I use a super small (smaller than my hand) Sony digital cam that has no bluetooth or wireless online connectivity. (I also use one of those super bendy tripods.) I picked a cam with no online connectivity because I didn't want to risk the vids being transferred online (by me doing it accidently) or the cam being wirelessly hacked in some way. Some of the vids came out better than others. It had a lot to do with me trying out things, lighting and the size of the room. A large room allowed me to have the cam closer but at a better angle to capture good shots. I usually set the cam next to the bed and let it go. I have held the cam in my hand sometimes, but I find this super distracting. For me, it works better if I just let the cam record. if I think about it too much I have a hard time focusing on the fun at hand.
