Here he is showering with his session partner, as is often seen, in Bob Mizer’s shower. John was just 18, and apparently was photographed by Mizer shortly before leaving for service in Vietnam in the 1960′s. He never reached there, but died en route of encephalitis. Lovely John Davidson, who died days after these pictures were taken by Bob Mizer. Bob said he was one of the nicest young men he ever photographed. He was a marine who died of encephalitis en route to Vietnam in 1965.

John sat for these studies shortly after reaching the age of 18, and left soon after for service in Vietnam. He never arrived, but died en-route of Encephalitis.
