I agree. I moved many years ago to a small university town with a considerable international student population. I had high hopes for potential "possibilities". Yet there is no gay scene whatsoever in the area nor adjacent areas. Not a single gay bar or business nor a single listing on RM. Nice eye candy out when I go to the supermarkets or take a walk on campus, but that's about it. Not a single sign in any of the men's rooms like back in my days. I imagine all hookups are done online though social apps. A college town or city doesn't seem to equate to much these days like it used to! Also I've noticed in the past few decades, that it's far easier for men to make some quick money selling drugs than to consider the need to sell themselves. And the few that do just go on CB where men thrown money at them to show themselves and chat with them and they have no need to ever meet them. It's a different world these days.

Montreal is my favorite for this! Before it was Vancouver, but it changed a lot and is no longer the clean nice city it used to be decades ago.
