I have taken my response to BSR's political opinions to a private message to him. Unfortunately, it is hard to discuss Novak without bringing in politics, since his problems now are related to his conflicts with governments rather than with other players.

Those who volunteer to serve in the military give up a lot of personal choices, including what outfit they will wear, where they will live, and yes, the right to pick and choose what vaccinations they are required to have. Ever since George Washington required that all Revolutionary soldiers be vaccinated against smallpox this has been so--it is not some arbitrary new practice. Rules are obviously different for non-citizens who enter the country illegally (i.e., without the proper documentation for immigration) versus non-citizens who wish to enter the country legally for a visit (i.e., with a visa). Free COVID vaccination is available only to citizens, so neither group is offered the choice of vaccination or not on arrival. Legal visitors like Novak cannot get a visa to make the trip in the first place, while illegal visitors are not allowed to travel freely once they are caught.

The US Open has not blocked him--they do not require participants to be vaccinated. He can't participate because the US gov't requires foreign visitors to be vaccinated.

Well, wouldn't ya know?!! This morning while walking my dog on a residential street, I was attacked by a swarm of killer bees, who stung me multiple times on my legs. It's a good thing I am not allergic to bee stings, or I would have ended in the ER instead of urgent care. No sign of lanternflies, though they might have urged the bees on after reading the above post. [Note to editors: please don't move thread to Politics forum.]

Whitney? Toby? -
Every biting insect in the world seems to be attracted to me. Although I wear socks all the time, whenever I go out early in the morning to walk the dog, things I can't even see attack my legs; at the moment I have nasty bites on my ankles from something that must be able to bite through my socks. The other day the tennis court I was playing on was crawling with ants. I asked the other players if they would be offended if I stomped on the ants, but no one was willing to defend ant rights, so we finished our match with many tiny spots on the court. I will kill any insect I find in my house, except spiders, because I know they are usually my friends in the insect wars. However, one time when I was sleeping in a hut in a national park in Tasmania, I woke to find spider bites on my stomach; apparently, they had nested in the bed I was sleeping on. That severely tested my tolerance for spiders, because the bites were ugly and took weeks to heal. If I find any lanternflies on my property (unlikely), they will not find refuge with me.

Great Calvin Klein ad.

Apostolos doesn't strike me as an easy person to tell to stay home. Then there is the further problem that Steph's mother was a successful tennis player, which probably complicates the family dynamic.

For those of us involved in the legal battle over gay rights on the East coast in the 1960s, the Black Cat was legendary. So when I made my first visit to SF in 1967, I hoped to see it, but it was gone.

I remember it, too, but I'll bet the voice at the other end of the line didn't actually look anything like him.

My impression was that Tsitsipas pulled out mentally during the second set--those easy balls in the middle of the court that he didn't even try to hit gave it away. I don't speak Greek, so I don't know what was in that constant chatter from his father (I didn't see Philippoussis speak at all), but Tsitsipas looked almost like a sulky child rejecting parental coaching.

After a rocky start, Coric beat Norrie with surprising ease. Tsitsipas beat Medvedev, who seemed somewhat rattled by the occasion, in 3 sets. Coric is looking more attractive than ever, so I would like to see him rise in the ranks to the point that his matches get a lot of TV coverage again. It's not like I am distracted by his looks, of course😜

How could they include that on August 14,1968, the Montreal Expos joined the National League, and leave out that on the same day Charlie met met his future spouse?! (And we stayed together longer than the Expos stayed in Montreal.) -

A cute young guy with a huge cock has been on RM for seven years, and has only eight reviews? Hmmm...

He must pay attention to this site, because his ad disappeared only 16 hours after the first mention here.

Lacoste polo shirts were the thing for gay men when I was young. I went bar-hopping in my new Lacoste with a friend in NYC one night when I was 21, and found myself in the Harbor Bar, which turned out to be a leather bar. When my friend went to case the joint, two big, older men in leather gear soon sat down on either side of me at the bar, and started to chat me up, then suggested that I join them outside for a motorcycle ride. However, my friend returned at that moment and strongly informed me that it was time for us to leave, so I never got to find out what those men were interested in doing with me🤔 My spouse, who is 87, still wears a Lacoste polo when he wants to look dressed up.

I have less armpit hair than I used to have, but the strangest thing is that I used to have a large patch of heavy dark hair covering the back of my left shoulder, which often caused comment from the men with whom I had carnal relations--one person even refused to do anything with me when he saw it, because he thought it was some strange disease. It appeared in my early teens, along with dark leg hair and public hair, on an area on which I had suffered a sunburn when I was an adolescent. I was not particularly aware of it unless someone mentioned it, because I couldn't see it without looking in a mirror, and I stopped having sex with strangers a dozen years ago. A couple of years ago, I happened to catch a glimpse of my back in a mirror, and was surprised to see that it has completely disappeared! The skin is still slightly darker in that area, but it is totally smooth--there isn't any trace of hair there at all, although the rest of my body hair hasn't changed. Any explanation?

I have always worn white New Balance tennis shoes, but I have noticed that recently many young pros at tournaments are wearing shoes with unusual colors and patterns. When I tried to buy new tennis shoes this week, my regular supplier told me that the only pair he could get in my size at the moment were royal blue and silver. I wonder what response I will receive when I show up on the court in them.

I love soup, but I have never made any. I have been addicted to Progresso, Campbell's and Amy's for years. -
I'm "usually very hot," too, here in the desert.
