  1. I can think of at least three other gallery categories in which this would fit very nicely.
  2. This thread is fascinating to me. I grew up in the Manhattan gay scene from the days of the dance bars like the Cherry Lane through the days of the sex clubs like the Mineshaft. I lived in Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen when they were straight neighborhoods. I haven't lived there in 35 years, and I haven't even been back to visit in ten years. It sounds as though if I were to return today, I would be as lost and clueless as I was when I arrived sixty years ago.
  3. Why would a male escort use Dubai as his home base?
  4. I would second the caution about times you put water in your mouth without thinking about drinking it. I usually brush my teeth with beer in India.
  5. I never thought I would see the day when "Hackensack" would be in a rent.men ad! I remember when the main action in Hackensack was at the bus terminal parking lot, but that was sixty years ago.
  6. Airbus has announced that it will stop production of the A380.
  7. I think I later learned it was Barry Manilow (my fellow citizen here in Palm Springs), although I didn't know who he was at that time.
  8. If you are in Agra on a moonlit night, try going to the Taj Mahal. You probably won't get into the grounds--the gates are usually locked at night--but moonlight on the building can be beautiful, and there will be no tourists on the grounds. If you stay at the Mughal Sheraton, try to get a room with a view of the Taj. Don't drink the water in Goa (even a bottle of water in a hotel room may have been filled from the tap in the utility room), and beware of restaurant drinks (like lassi) that haven't been boiled. The worst "Delhi belly" I ever had was while staying in a small hotel in Goa. When traveling in the country, stop at a coconut stand, and have them slice open a fresh coconut; the liquid is very refreshing and safe to drink--bring your own straw.
  9. Yes, Bette did perform at the Continental Baths in the early 1970s. I saw her there.
  10. The White Party is a huge annual event held in Palm Springs. I believe it got its name from the fact that participants were encouraged to wear white.
  11. Well, I hope so, too, but at this moment we are under another day long wind advisory, and my windows are rattling behind me. My dog refuses to go outside longer than it takes to do his business, because the howling of the wind is unnerving to him. So far in 2019 Palm Springs has had as much rain as Portland, OR.
  12. I stopped going to the baths about a quarter century ago, when I finally accepted the fact that I was not my most attractive self when wandering around in just a towel.
  13. Synthetic testosterone hasn't improved my Bridge game.
  14. I never went to a bath house because I wanted to socialize, and I never went to a gay bar because I wanted to drink. My objective in each situation was to find someone with whom to have sex. The bath house was almost always more efficient at achieving that; with only one major exception, I never met anyone in a bath house with whom I developed an ongoing social relationship, as I did with guys I met in bars.
  15. Is this an amateur or professional sport?
  16. So many balls to play with....
  17. The use of "fun" as an adjective, as in "a fun vacation," "How fun was that!?" Foreign students know from their English language dictionaries that "fun" is a noun, and "funny" is an adjective, so they will often assume that the correct expression is "a funny vacation," "How funny was that!?" Then they are surprised by their hearer's or reader's puzzled reaction.
  18. Yes, but it wasn't intended that way. He was a visiting escort, and we had been canoodling for a few minutes, when he suddenly broke down sobbing, and admitted that he was in town for a family funeral, and realized he couldn't perform. I held him in my arms until he could regain his control, but he was so obviously distraught, that I spent the rest of the appointment time comforting him and counseling him. He didn't ask for his fee, but I gave it to him anyway. He called me the next day and offered a free session to make up for it, but I was no longer available.
  19. The Agua Caliente is a huge casino hotel in Rancho Mirage. It is not the kind of place one wants to stay during PS Weekend.
  20. There was an announcement this morning that the tram hopes to reopen by April 1st.
  21. I know this is not "guess the city," but I'l bet it is Washington, DC.
  22. I sounds like he may studder.
  23. Isn't that MasculineJason from Denver, who is mentioned on two other threads today?
  24. Are you taking for granted that he actually did kill both men? And are you taking for granted that the police did do an incompetent investigation?
