I grew up and went to college in the Midwest. We played those and also backgammon and cribbage.

I have only canceled once. I absolutely couldn't keep the appointment and couldn't reschedule anytime soon. To this day I don't feel good about it and I expect the masseur was not too happy, although he didn't complain. He was someone new for me, so I had no cred built up with him. I wouldn't be surprised if I've landed on his "wasted my time" list. I would hate to think that one bad experience would end up getting me blackballed on some kind of masseur forum. Knowing that, when I hire a masseur and the session goes bad, I never come on the forum and create a TMZ style blast about an experience, naming the masseur. At least I hope I haven't. Worst case I remind that my experience was mine, and may not reflect what others will find. Bottom line is "sh!t happens." Doesn't do too much good to dwell on it.

I don't want a massage by a smoker, and I don't want tobacco smoke in the room, which could sort of go hand in hand Both are deal breakers for me.

That's a new one, massaging with one hand. So no clapping either I suppose, not like that guy I just had that tapped and clapped. -
Couple of nice covers found on YouTube today.

Famed opera singer David Daniels, husband arrested for felony sex assault
+ E.T.Bass replied to samhexum's topic in Opera
Mr. Schultz is an alumnus of the United States Senate Page Program and had the prestigious honor of singing for the United States Congress. He received advanced degrees in voice performance from The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. He is the 2nd to come forward about these two, so that does't look good for David Daniels and husband. Just ask Kevin Spacey, Bill Cosby, Brian Singer, Harvey Weinstein, Steve Wynn, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, Louis C.K. Les Moonvees, etc. -

I certainly agree there are times one might feel lucky, to not take one's circumstances for granted. I question the value in calling others a failure, though. I also agree how many are apt to blame others for their trying situation, showing little or no empathy. 100 years ago there were institutions that kept under roof society's folks that were not able to cope for various reasons. I guess the Trumpsters call that the nanny state. What's worse is how people blame the poor for what's wrong with society. That goes on in other countries as well, not just the US.

Love how these actors are talking up their story on media, that they are all in, making this couple work on screen, that Michael and Alex are "two people in love". I wish more of the media would get that. Finally a couple of actors that get it, or at least know the PC words to use in public. But pretty sure they really do get it.

You don't see any potential there? With the huge $$ Friends reruns make these days, maybe a market was identified.

interested to hear if anyone tries him. Love his pics. Cute AF. Well read?

I'm getting pretty obsessed with Michael. Here's what Emma Dibdin at Vulture wrote about Michael and Alex. “Every time you look at me, I’m 17 again,” Alex says when all those repressed feelings finally simmer over, “and I forget that the last ten years even happened, and then you look away and I remember all over again, and it almost kills me.” You know what almost kills me? Michael’s response: “I never look away. Not really.” Then they’re inside the RV and they’re kissing, and Michael is tenderly throwing Alex down on his bed, and it’s altogether a lot of feelings to process. The level of intensity and soulfulness that’s coming through in this relationship, after just two episodes, is really something.

FYI, Three Identical Strangers is on CNN tonight. Here on the West Coast starting at 6pm. Without spilling anything I recommend hanging in there to get to the meat of the story. Where it starts seems light stuff, but it isn't. SPOILER &&&&&& SPOILER &&&&&&& SPOILER &&&&&&&&& SPOILER &&&&&&&&&& Here is a CNN story on further information released from Yale University after the movie was finished. https://www.cnn.com/videos/tv/2019/01/21/three-identical-strangers-never-seen-footage-orig.cnn/video/playlists/three-identical-strangers-videos/

This video gives a condensed look at Alex and Michael, although they had to remove the licensed music from the show which was awesome music. .

The Sopranos was very clear that these people were not angels. In Breaking Bad, at least Vince Gilligan gave a plausible reason why Gus seemed so evil, and why Heisenberg took that path. None of them were ever portrayed as people we'd want to pattern our life after. Some folks enjoy good crime stories, but yeah, not for everyone.

Went back and watched the final scene of the Sopranos today. Then I watched another video on the meaning of the last episode, what David Chase was telling us. Watching the last scene, when Tony chose to play Journey Don't Sop Believing on the jukebox reminded me how much I enjoyed the music: the theme song, the different cuts that played during the credits each week, even Uncle Junior singing I always assumed the final episode reminded us that Tony could die at any moment. The risk never ended. Apparently, according to David Chase, the real answer of the final is all there, what really happens, although we never see. David Chase hasn't admitted it though, what the last episode means, and what happens to Tony according to the analysis I watched today, as if it is left to us to figure it out based on what he laid out in the epi. Reminds my of how Vince Gilligan wouldn't admit that Max and Fring were lovers in Breaking Bad. To me it's as if he won't confirm, because it's all there. And it was.

I agree. Jackie Jr. would have been awesome as the closeted gay boy. Christopher would have been good too, getting a little bit on the down low, when he wasn't hopped up on dope.
