  1. I wouldn't worry about not able to do a pull up. There are lots of weight lifting routines on YouTube. For me it was a matter of just beginning and continuing, and less to do with the amount of weight, such as a pull up. I focus on repetitions. As my musculature increased, my underarms took on a more defined look. Do plenty of stretching.
  2. His raised left eyebrow and man-spreading might be too subtle, it's true. One never knows for sure until you're in.
  3. When I learned The Old Globe production of Romeo and Juliet was not exactly "by the book" I was worried I might not like it. I'd been excited to see Aaron Moten as Romeo, and a little miffed hearing he might be doing some dumbed down version of the Bard. However, I loved it. The play wasn't dumbed down at all. Moten was fantastic. Juliet, the nurse and Mercutio were also amazingly good. The production took a few detours from the classic R&J but they worked. Got our money's worth, 3 hours. Moten was tender, fierce, sweet, funny and cute as Romeo. He certainly did "kiss by the book." The crowd loved him. It would be unsophisticated and unfair to overly objectify his body so I won't mention whether I was impressed by his ample package during the love scene. The director was not shy about letting the audience see Moten's beautiful body. Holy sh!t, I certainly understood the depth of Juliet's grief when her hunk was banished. Tonight's show was sold out and gave a standing O. I need to get back to San Diego for more theater!
  4. A lady behind me mentioned she saw Hedwig there, so they take on some challenging stuff.
  5. I agree he has skills, better than average. I needed some good therapy. Good value.
  6. My experience was not quite the same as what I expected based on the posts. This is first time the YMMV caveat worked against me. For $150, I'd give it a B at best.
  7. Last night I had a chance to see a production currently in previews at Diversionary Theater in the University Heights neighborhood of San Diego. I was impressed. The performances were great. I recommend it.
  8. Buddy had bad luck on Grindr attracting youngsters needing money to buy their "college books", Not sure if my friend ever found any enjoyment from these charity case quasi friends. Sometimes I worried how these dudes would just show up at his door. That would freaking drive me nutz. Kind of scary.
  9. Does he ever ask about your life? Or respond with questions when you share about your scene? Did he mention traveling with anyone or where he's traveling too? If you are just expanding your gay circle, why not send a message on Grindr? I'm a coworker expanding my social contacts.
  10. Scheduled Kyle for a massage but then he called in sick. I got a haircut. Was OK. Would like to hear how Kyle is.
  11. Has anyone tried Nuad Thai Massage near South Coast Plaza in Santa Ana? They are in a nice retail center with a large grocery store, Brueger's Bagels, McDonalds, etc. I'm curious if they have any good male therapists. Very near the 405.
  12. What about you two? Is this it, or are you pining to mix it up with your 9 to 5 life? Try a few variations of that without coming off like an A-hole. That's just a thought I had, some unsolicited advice.
  13. **Winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in History** Very glad I read this book. Now more than ever, this piece of our history is important to understand. I recommend everyone read it. And of course Frederick Douglass was an amazing man.
  14. Was K.J. Apa pretty hot in person?
  15. I shook hands with Jesse Jackson. A celebrity that I admire cut in front of me at a Malcom Gladwell book signing. I won't mention her name because people will judge. So, at book signings, I've met James Franco, Malcom Gladwell and Burt Bacharach. I live in LA, so I've stood or sat next to too many celebrities to name, mostly at theaters, movies, concerts and so on. I always figure they are just people too so I remain shy and demure. My friend Enrique did go rushing up to George Takeii at the Ace Hotel Theater so we sort of met him, although he seemed to want to get away from us.
  16. This is only going to be semi helpful. Years ago stayed at the Motel 6 in R.M. Was super clean. We'd planned staying in someone's spare room but he skated so Motel 6 turned out to be perfect. If staying down there, Emperor Buffet has a wide variety. Used to always go when exploring in that direction. No shortage of veggies for the healthy crowd. Desserts, sushi and so on, Roy's Hawaiian Fusion in R.M. is more upscale fare. Recently sat at the bar during happy hour. The service was great and I enjoyed watching the young fellows preparing the food. Ordered delicious items from the happy hour menu. But yeah, don't know of gay specific accommodations down there. only some local boys that wanted to meet at Roy's.
  17. Bill Maher made this his big Friday night speech this week, how obesity is a huge problem, and costs America a lot. What he doesn't get is shaming people doesn't really work and only goes to show other people one's own flaw, being an asshole, just like Maher is. I have an obese friend. His health is affected by it. I worry about it sometimes, yet I know there are few things one can do to help him reduce. I'd miss him if something drastic happens. He's a sweet guy and I love spending time with him
