  1. I'll never grow tired of this one. "My house has been a bordello!" Reads like a line in an Edmund White novel. The drama we bring into our lives.
  2. I agree. As a witch once said "these things must be done delicately." I know from experience at a department store, a nice young man might be giving you special treatment because he is a nice young man. Though my friend told me "did you see the way he looked at you?" We were both wrong. Use emotional intelligence. Don't imagine verbal cues. Be respectful as you carefully drop your pearls.
  3. When our country was founded, the Brits were still killing men for doing hanky panky with another dude. Public hangings. Thomas Jefferson thought differently, that cutting their nuts off would be ample punishment. The Brits spread their common law across the globe. I'd like to know if those societies killed gay men before the Brits empire spread into the Middle East. Certainly was not done in native American cultures. That said, life for gay men was far better before the Arab Spring and before ISIS. Being outed there is now a terrible event. So yes, our squabbles over coming out and not being out enough or queer enough are given perspective by those victims tossed from rooftops. Yet we are still an easy target. For now, it is our good fortune for those of us that live in the West. Still, I'll never trust faith based US civics. Recriminalizing bufu is still part of their think-tank dogma. Coming out is good for the whole, but even now, can be risky. I try not to judge the choices made about coming out.
  4. At least it can be fun to bask in his beauty while showing him the kind of respect that many customers never do. The service attendant at Ford is such a looker, mid 20s. I expect his line goes back to old Mejico. Muy, muy guapo. I always enjoy interacting, always asking his recommendation when the option whether to rotate the tires comes up. "I don't know. Should I this time?" Sometimes I let my imagination run wild when he escorts me to the car and shakes my hand good bye. Does he treat all customers so sweetly? No. Does he want to see me outside of work? Probably not. He is just a nice guy that likes my style as his customer.
  5. Shorted me big on time and his junk was a little grungy. I like fresh and sweet smelling. Sounds like I was a fluke. It happens.
  6. ...yet it is the idea that when guests load their plate and then can't finish it so food is wasted, or guests walk out with food, that is not acceptable to the restaurant. They will charge for that loss. When a customer assumes or rationalizes it is OK to do it, they'd be wrong. Making assumptions about leftovers is not the customers concern.
  7. I expect the one reason to read Find Me is the reader anticipating more of Elio and Oliver's bittersweet love story and perhaps confirming what kind of guy Oliver really was, a dog or a guy that left Italy broken hearted and never stopped loving Elio; would he step into that taxi the next morning and "call me by your name" before leaving Elio again and forever. Or not. Well I won't spoil it for you. I do recommend the review in the Atlantic, if you are interested in spoilers. The novel returns to themes of CMBYN, especially musical composition. The book itself is presented in 4 movements which required patience. The 1st movement reminded me an awful lot of Aciman's Enigma Variations, a book I enjoyed. Aciman used the phrase "Jews of discretion" in CMBYN and now I wonder how much of his younger readership realized the underlying meaning of it. Find Me goes pretty deep there. Perhaps Aciman realized the need to close the loop on that piece of it, the history connecting himself and his characters.
  8. Thumbs up. Hamish Patel is great. More from him please. Doesn't matter the premise, it's The Beatles. Leave it be. Kate McKinnon character didn't impress.
  9. I'd have my guest let me buy him something to go and also try to work it out with the host to cover what the fellow took from the buffet, without causing him any embarrassment. I guess I wouldn't want to judge or school him but hopefully he'd think about it when I insist on the to go order.
  10. Now that Rage Against the Machine was announced as the headline act at Coachella, I expect remaining Santiago rooms will vanish. I will be there at Santiago part of the week so am looking forward to meeting anyone staying there.
  11. I hired a nice jewish boy that when he said he was from Long Island, it sounded like he was saying Lawn Guyland. I get hard now just thinking about him.
  12. Only because a buddy of mine runs into this with young guys he chases on Grindr, the tuition shortfall predicament is something my buddy has run across where in the end was not the case, but I don't know your guy so trust your got I'd say.
  13. Waiting for his birthday kiss.
  14. "People can be such hypocrites when it comes to porn. They shun it and condemn it, they look down on anyone connected to the industry, and then they go home and masturbate to it. It drives me crazy." ~ Howard Roffman There is a very nice piece about him in the MetroSource Magazine which you can pick up on the gay magazine racks or read on line at the link. You'll be glad you did.
  15. I agree. I get the provider to confirm the cross streets ASAP, never making plans based on RM location info. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice........can't git fooled agin.
  16. He had a table 3 months ago.
  17. He's Visiting LA. Anyone try him?
  18. “If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell.” ~Carl Sandburg ("He was America." ~Lyndon B. Johnson)
  19. There is no God but God and his name is William Shakespeare. ~Harold Bloom Born July 11, 1930, East Bronx NY Died October 14, 2019
  20. Watched The Laundromat on Netflix today. The movie is based on the book Secrecy World by Jake Bernstein, much ado about the Panama Papers. The message is important though depressing, hearing more about the kind of greed sweeping the US and the rest of the World. The cast and creators might lead one to expect a much better film. Still, I'm glad I watched it to the end.
  21. The idea that it's not fair having to bring it up sounds like a worthy topic, but if you let that issue put your hiring life on hold, then maybe you should ask yourself "what do I really want." Thankfully there is some great advice above from guys that understand how you can get the satisfaction you are looking for. Kudos for being willing to ask.
  22. I've met straight dudes that do sensual massage. Over the years I've lost count of the number of married dudes or friends that eventually married a woman that wanted to try. I never wanted to, with the married ones. A movie on Dekkoo delves much further into the subject. I'm A Porn Star: Gay 4 Pay
  23. Martha Stewart.
  24. I Was the others brought him up. Point being not to give him much thought.
