I always prefer to meet the client in the lobby. I find it provides more security at least on the escorts end. I've had some situations where I went directly to the room and had some issues with the client.

I prefer meeting in the lobby. It makes the transition into "work" time easier. I believe this can settle nerves as I obviously look like my photos. Also what scammer would do an in call and meet in the lobby? Likely not many. I stay in hotels that require a keycard so it works very well for me. I have had regulars work the system and catch a ride up to my floor with another guest also.

I will say that having my home base be a smaller Midwestern market (or southern, depending on where you think Oklahoma falls) I've seen all of this since the beginning. It may be that in smaller cities if you're not in more places, you're not viable, but I've essentially run into all of these problems since the start. It's not the overwhelming majority of my interactions, thank goodness, but that portion of the interactions can definitely be frustrating.

All that said, with enough bad behavior from clients on the front end, I've - and I bet you have too - learned how to spot a lot of that on the front end, too. Knowing when to stop a conversation; taking a booking, but knowing from the conversation they'll probably no-show / cancel; remembering you need to eat too, and not speedboating through your dinner to make a buck; or many other things that happen.

I know, at least for me, that the most frustrating part is that we have no recourse. If a client decides to skip a booking without telling us, or behave in a bad way, it's no skin off their back. Sometimes I see things here, and I'm like "that shouldn't be okay..." and if you ask how to deal with it or say something, many are like "that's part of the business! if you don't like it, find something else to do!"
But if we have a bad day or aren't 110% positive 110% of the time, we're perceived as being negative. Even on this forum, If we say a slightly negative thing, complain about a client, (or a city) etc. it can lead to us being publicly badmouthed at best, or blacklisted at worst.

Or at least how to retain your sense of self when something bad happens. I still get frustrated, but that 2-hour no-show just gave me time to shower, actually get a bite of real food to eat, and get off my feet if I've been standing all day.

All that said, you're allowed to complain, even though many times it may feel like you can't. I still call my BFF Jeremy Davis in DC and he has to talk me down sometimes.
We'll never figure out completely why some people act the way they do. Just don't let it ruin your composure.

After escorting for roughly one year and being supremely disappointed by several RM escorts, I luckily happened upon one in December who is a perfect match and I have been seeing him exclusively once or twice a week and have no desire to shop around for another, even let my RM membership expire.

I'm glad another escort has come out and been real about the differing and newer challenges that have surfaced. Interestingly enough, your challenges are a bit different than my challenges (I don't have the option for clients to uber me, or FaceTime me) , but regardless...the answer is yes it has become increasingly difficult. Don't listen to other escorts who claim it's never like that for them. I've personally spoken to popular escorts who've experienced the same things that I've contended with and worse.

One thing about America: no matter what you do (unless it's something niche and usually IT related), there's 50 million other people doing the same thing. America has become so ultra competitive, I think it factors in with the business. I personally don't touch markets like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles because it's too many escorts advertising. Specifically, many Black escorts.

I went thru Chicago the other day, and the same client who contacted me in Phoenix and begged me to come over last year, didn't even respond to my second text while he was also visiting Chicago yesterday. He has like 150,000 black dicks to choose from in Chicago, why the FUCK would he wait two hours for me.

If I lived in Australia, Germany, I know for a fact I'd be a rich black escort. Not starving artist mode like I am in the USA. I met 2 Australian guys in Colorado years ago, and they loved me. It's not as competive like here in America where every guy who wants Black guys have 100s of thousands of guys to choose from.

To some, it seems like when these things happen, you're making too much of a fuss, because at face value...its considered just sex. And sex now can be found on any corner nowadays, so the fact that so many of us are making it at all, is nothing short of a miracle...considering 3/4 of the places to advertise business has been wiped out in the past 5 years.

Personally, I will no longer advertise in more than 2 travel cities at a time. I know rentmen allows like 6, but I'm finding when I do that, too many people are tugging at me to come to this and that city. I try to schedule them all, but in reality...I can't always foresee how long I'll need to stay in a particular area. I was doing a Washington DC to Chicago trip over memorial weekend into this week. I almost skipped a city and missed a good client to reach a client in another city, and by the time I got to the other destination, the holiday was over and a couple of the ones who contacted prior to arrival, flaked.

I'll tell you what's worked for me: auto templates for text. So when they want to send 1 word texts...I send back a big long text asking: name/age/preference/host or travel/website seen on. Gets them talking everytime. Also, if shit gets too rough and tough, don't be afraid to call the MoFoes out in your ad. Tell them, don't send 1 word texts. Don't call last minute. You will NOT have sex for drugs. Trust me, every few months I have to put out a ADVISORY in my ad re: the latest irritating bad behavior. Things start to improve.

There's a verse I like to quote in my mind, whenever I feel things aren't falling in place : "ye have not, because ye ask not." So by all means, ask and you shall receive....whether that be thru texts or directly in your ad itself.

As a client, I do not find misbehavior by fellow clients acceptable. It is probably part of the cost of doing business and you have to do what you have to do to minimize the impact on your business.

I should point out that client misbehavior does not go unnoticed and you will find that clients do stand up for providers when they detect this kind of B.S. This example from earlier today: https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/drunk-client-or-questionable-escort.137569/

I think you're not going to have a very fun time if you keep getting upset at what's happening, or if you keep searching for the "logic" behind it all. I personally have experienced many of the things you've mentioned (as I'm sure many of the working fellows have), and I sometimes find they seem to come and go; at times, there are more oddball questions and flakes than others. This is part of the business and I would assert that nearly every business on earth has the time wasters, the people who don't read, the people who communicate ineffectively, etc. To me, part of the work we do is dealing with these things.

Essentially, you can be right or you can be happy.

Makes sense. If You're traveling for work, things get tight...as was discussed a few weeks ago. And also, I understand not everyone can plan days or weeks in advance.

But I really got to thinking, maybe I didn't emphasized ENOUGH about how I prefer clients to book. So last night, I just went ahead and immediately put in my ad in bold and in plain sight: no last minute appointments, count back 2 hours from the desired time of arrival...and make sure it's atleast that amount of time or more. I usually find 4 to 8 hours is ample time to make concessions for same day appointments.

Hopefully that'll put an end to all the scrambling around like an egg when someone calls, and wants to meet now. I know some escorts (and even barbers) don't mind or even prefer last minute (aka walk-in) appointments, but people have to understand that everyone works differently. Even saying "available" on rentmen doesn't mean available NOW. It just means I'm available to schedule now. When you see an apartment that's "available now", that doesn't mean you can move in that same hour, right? Exactly. People assume available means NOW

That's what I keep forgetting. They sprayed raid on Craigslist and backpage, but that didn't kill the roaches, they just crawled over to other sites. Ever since that's happened, business has increased overall, but it's gotten worse because all these f-ing bugs are bugging.

Just straight up all across the board in every city I've gone to lately, just stupid MoFoes getting on my nerves.

    1. they message me early in the morning trying to interrupt my sleep
    2. They take up to much time with their bullshit messages
    3. Then they flake and and don't fucking follow thru with shit when it's time

It's like all the flakes from Craigslist are moving to other sites. I've just gone ahead and put note in my ad. I'm not sweet talking or freak talking or anything. I'm making it very plain and clear...because they can find my number so easily, but can't be bothered to read travel dates or call in advance.

I'd advise others to follow that link, because the level of insanity is going to get worse if we don't hold MoFoes accountable for their bullshit. There's really no network out there right now to caution escorts about taking appointments with certain callers.

Yeah, but generally speaking it’s the client who has a bit more say in the timing of the situation. Both sides can flake, but more often than not..the escort has to try to magically fit such big things inside the clients tight frame of time (pun intended).

I’m disappointed that these occurrences have to sort of overshadow the good ones who actually do give reasonable notice and time. But more and more and more, every other time or 2 that I get a client, it seems it’s always a race for time to get to them because they don’t want to wait or wait to ask for stuff last minute.

And I can’t blame myself on these ones because in each case, I arrived to each location early in the day and stayed at least a full day. They want me to play bus stop, but get surprised when the bus takes OFF.

Pulling a bus stop is basically like when a person who needs to get somewhere soon, just walks out onto the curb to wait for a bus, without checking to see the times the bus is scheduled to arrive. Or standing 100 feet from the bus stop, waving and expecting it to stop for them anyway. Then gets mad and talks about how long the bus is taking, or takes too long.

I don't see why I shouldn't be asking other escorts if masseur finder is good. Are they not wanting to know what's going on in another website for their business. I've seen a lot of guys on here that are escorts and have masseur finder profiles as well. I don't care so much about asking a client because ultimately you're not in the business. As for those that answered my question thank you. I'm not trying to be rude but my audience was for the escorts. I've done quite well for myself on rentmen and rentmasseur as well as Adam 4adam. And I paid the 277 on masseur finder. But I'm just finding that masseur finder even though I did my reoccuring for this month, this will most likely be the last month that I advertise on massuerfinder. It just doesn't live up to the hype anymore.

I’ve not been there since I moved out of Denver.

However, in this climate it may be worth to try some new things. Different websites work differently in different areas. I personally don’t like MFs pricing structure.

Rentmen is my go to, but these games being played are getting on my last. Mainly in Florida. Idk what it is with the guys out here. Just too many games. I need to run away for a few weeks or something.

My only thing with massage sites is, I just feel sly when someone contacts me saying they just want a massage. Rarely does it end up that way. Yes, I do massage. I can get all the kinks and work all the muscles. But I can’t charge $250 for a massage without getting partially scolded for my rates. And personally, due to the fact that I have to travel for all of my appointments, I can’t justify charging the same for a massage like I did back in 2010 when I lived in San Antonio and paid only $475 a month to rent a 1 bedroom.

I’m not not charging for massage. I’m charging for the entire experience. I prefer to know exactly what someone wants, versus saying stuff like “deep penetrating massage” or prostate massage etc. You want an escort/masseur to fuck you? Just say it then...

@FigureSkater, welcome to the forum! I second the recommendation to review posts by @VictorPowers and also suggest @FTM Zachary Prince because both of them seem to be consummate professionals and have built successful businesses. Some thoughts:

    1. As with any branding situation, decide what your "brand" is and what you want it to be about. Since you've grabbed the tag, FigureSkater, that's clearly an athletic/jock presentation. That you're Asian is also part of your brand. The assets you've displayed in your pics are intriguing and could certainly apply to a "jock top" or a "jock bottom" or "versatile jock." It all depends on what you want to be professionally and what you're comfortable doing with clients.

    2. Part of any successful business is "finding your niche" and nailing it. In other words, once you find a success brand/niche/kink for yourself, be the best damn version of that that you can be and you'll attract and retain the clients who are into that brand/niche/kink.

    3. Even though your communication style plays into your brand--such as Fin Doms who call their clients fags or other derogatory names--it's always important to be on-time and consistent with your communication. There's nothing more frustrating than flaky communicators.

    4. Be safer because escorting and men who have sex with men are both high-risk demographics for STD and STI transmission and there are highly resistant strains of nearly every known sexually infectious agent in the world now. It's important to know this stuff well and protect yourself. Get your vaccinations, use condoms, consider PrEP if you're engaging in anal sex, especially as a bottom because condoms do break.

    5. Consider your boundaries and be firm about them. The nature of this work and the "roles" we play in interactions can sometimes blur the lines. Don't put yourself at risk needlessly. That means, if you don't want to have public face pics, don't. You're an Asian in Oklahoma, a very "red" state. Being outed is a real risk for you. Plan accordingly.

Have fun! As a client, this is one of my favorite "hobbies" and I'm privileged to have had some incredible experiences. I've certainly learned a great deal about myself.

Just wanted to comment on the face picture thing. I sometimes lock my face pictures for discretion. Like when I go out and don't want to risk getting recognized. So I think it's fine to have your face pictures locked. Sometimes I unlock them though and make them public and have had clients that told me they only hired me cause the face picture was public and they didn't have to ask me to unlock. So I guess we don't really get the luxury of being discreet in this line of work... lol So what I generally do is make it public unless I'm going somewhere that I think I might be recognized in public.

Also you is in Oklahoma City where it would be even easier for you to be spotted in public. I guess some clients find it an annoyance to ask for the passcode for the private pics if that is where the face pictures are... So as escorts we have to balance how much privacy we want and how much work we want... But again you are in unique situation being in OKC, which is a small community. Everyone knows everyones business.

I am actually from there btw (before moving to California). Last time I went home to visit I took on one client and as for rates I charged what I charge here in Los Angeles and Orange County. I had more offers, but I only accepted one client as I was on vacation. I might have got the same rate as I get on the coast though cause I was visiting and my reviews? So I can't promise that will work for you. You can always give a price though and let them know you are open to negotiation. IF they negotiate too low you can always thank them for their time and move on if it's too low. OKC does have an affluent neighborhoods though such as Nichols Hills. Here on the Coast most of us I think charge $200 to $250 Hour for our time. Porn stars that are famous sometimes go higher than that. Some do less, but I personally don't go below $200. Also you can offer multi hour discounts like some of us do to motivate clients to hire you for more than an hour. Like $200 Hour for first two hours of time and then $100 Hour after. I also do $300 for 90 minutes for a client that wants more than an hour but not a full 2 hours. If a client just wants an hour I charge $240 Hour of time. And I use to offer specials when things were slow. Like during Tax Season things die down alot, so I would offer a lower Tax Season Special. But now we can't advertise rates on rentmen, so that went away. Just be sure you emphasize you are charging for your time. Especially in OKC as it's part of a Red state.
Others more local to OKC might be able to give better advise on rates though than me as I'm Coastal.

I tend to skip over the profiles without out a face pick most of the time. That doesn't mean I've not hired guys without one though. Not having a face picture adds the extra layer of requesting a photo. That can result in back and forth exchanges that become frustrating at times.

Ultimately, it's your comfort level that matters in this instance. You have to decide if you are willing to risk any consequences related to your profile picture being discovered by family, friends, or potential employers.

Consider a private gallery option as an alternative solution if you have concerns. Rentmen has them and you can provide the password to seriously interested clients upon request.
