  1. I always wanted to visit Barranquilla not for sexual stuff but just to see. After all, it's the city of Shakira. They also have a very poorly made Shakira statue there. But barranquilla never really pops up when talking about tourism in colombian its usually medellin, bogota or cartegena.

When you travel solo, you have a great chance to get out of your comfort zone. I was an introvert until I started traveling alone, discovering new people and new cultures. For five years, I raised a good amount of money, and this year I fulfilled my dream of visiting almost 30 countries. And many more countries follow. This week I ended with Germany. I was very impressed by this country, its architecture, the buildings, the castles. I did a neuschwanstein castle tour, at one of the most beautiful castles in the world. It's a must to visit!

This is so true. I am so glad the people in this forum gave me the courage to travel alone. I still remember making this thread being so nervous and now I have taken 4 solo trips so far. Just do your research beforehand of the place and you should be good. 😊😊

  3. Hey y'all. So I have a cruise stop at PV. I will have a day to explore the city.  A local market, one gay bar and Club Spartacus is on my list. What else should I add?

One more thing when "Zona Romantica" is like town? I have it on my list but where do I go in the Zona Romantica?

    Thanks!

  4. Anyone who has been to Atlantis cruise...how does the food option works? I am talking about the one that are covered in the amount not the specialty ones. Do you jus go anytime of the day and get as much as food you want?

I took an Atlantis cruise out of LA many years ago. I did not enjoy any of the ports of call. Maybe do the beach in Los Cabos, skip Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. I do remember that the passengers seemed way more slutty on the LA cruise than on the Atlantis Med and Caribbean cruises.

pardon me for asking this. What do you mean by slutty over here lol?  like sex-hungry or throwing off attitude.

I do think their Caribbean one is more popular probably because it has better ports and it's sold out already versus the Halloween one has not sold out yet.

  6. Ok so I am finally planning to go to Mexico City end of this month. I have a question, how does the immigration office take at that airport? I do not plan to have checked bag, only hand carry. So how long will it take to go through Mexico City Airport immigration after landing for US Citizen?

    Thanks!

US to MEX:  Just a valid passport.  You'll fill in a MX landing card when you go through immigration.  They'll give you a tear-off slip that you need to keep through the duration of your visit and turn in when you're leaving.  It's all easy and quick.

On the way back to the States, you'll need a negative COVID test (most major hotels can arrange this, in-room, for you) and will need to fill out a Mexican health declaration (all done on your mobile phone at the airport).  Once completed, you show them a QR code, which allows you through security to the gates.

    Thank you so much!! 😊

  8. Does anyone know the logistics of entering mexico?

I know as US Citizen, I do not need a visa. But do I fill out a form or something, is it something given at the airport? Is there like an immigration office check before you exit the airport? What else?

I am sorry I have only traveled once internationally way back.

if you need or want upscale shopping, hotels, restaurants, the Polanco neighborhood is it....

the very convenient Zona Rosa was formerly the nice tourist area many years ago, but has now become a more nightlife-y area with a mix of gay- and straight-oriented bars and restaurants.....my only experience with Mexico City (CDMX) included a very satisfying stay at the smallish and very mid-level Roommate Valentina in the Zona Rosa....part of a gay-friendly Mexican chain.....a couple popular gay bars/strip clubs across the street.....tons of food options all over nearby....easy walk to subway stations.......

    Thanks!

I would prefer a hotel that is closer to the tourist attractions ( Angel of Independence, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Metropolitan Cathedral etc.)

  10. Hello Fam,

So a little change of plan. I couldn't do Orlando but I am doing Miami in few weeks.

I am planning to stay in Hotel Gaythering mostly because the prices are a little less than other hotels at the time I am going. 😅 But I am kinda nervous to stay there (my first gay hotel) plus how do I do an Uber to hotel gaythering from airport? Like would the uber driver be concerned or hesitant to drive there cuz it's a gay hotel 😐

Any other tips for solo travel to Miami are welcomed please.

Thanks for all the support y'all!
