Out of curiosity, why does it bother anybody who said it does if a provider is willing to lower their rate to make the deal, for lack of a better term? I get the mentality from the provider POV in a way. I’ve lowered my rate for some clients when they’ve asked me to, as long as it’s not drastically lower from my norm (I only charge $200 an hour, which I think is pretty low here in NYC but since I’m new and there’s so many available escorts in the market). Now I’ll say I’ve ended conversations with guys who asked for me to only take half my rate and were speaking to me in a very rude way. But somebody who is speaking to me nicely and asking me to shave a few bucks off, and may turn into a regular customer? I’m willing to work with that.

Someone who has been a provider for much longer than I have advised me not too long ago that I should always contact people who look at my profile. If the potential client has their profile filled out, I definitely read it and use what I can to strike up a conversation. Or to decide we may not be a match (like if someone says they’re specifically looking for tall guys, or uncut guys, etc.) I’ve met a couple of guys who I contacted first. And I’ve had at least one convo go nowhere. And a slew of others who never respond. But this is a business and all businesses require footwork of some sort. It’s worth the effort of taking two minutes to send someone a message who had looked at my profile. The worst thing they can do is ignore me and I haven’t lost anything. But the potential gain if they respond and show interest is totally worth it.

I definitely prefer advanced bookings. It’s way easier for me to schedule something than to randomly be ready to run. Especially since I’m very much willing to travel anywhere in NYC, but certain parts can certainly take time to get to by train from wherever I’m at. I feel like I tend to get contacted by people who are looking for right now. I believe I missed out on at least two clients this week because they reached out to me while I was at my day job and they were looking for right now. Ah well.

Just wanted to celebrate that I received my first review on rentmen last night! 5 Stars! I’m really quite thrilled! And the experience was a blast. Guess you always remember your first one!

Seems like it would be most of the same keywords that were used on Craigslist. Gen, generous, roses, etc. Personally, I don’t want to use my Grindr profile to advertise. But if I see someone saying they’re looking to be generous, I may hit them up. I had one person message me the other day asking if I was okay with them being generous. I didn’t even ask and they messaged me first! I of course said that’s not a problem haha.

I’m glad you threw numbers out there. I had someone text me Friday who said “forget it” when I told him my rate was $250. Made me think I was asking too much but really I thought that was average. And I was even willing to travel to Queens!

Definitely great advice! I need to take more pics stat. I don’t have many with facial hair bc I just grew it out a month ago. And I don’t want to post any without since it’s my current look. I’ll work on that over the next day or two. Certainly I can get another few pictures or so.

Honestly, half the reason I am venturing into escorting is because I love sex. I want to feel good during the sex as well. Granted I feel like it’s all about making sure the client is satisfied, but if they ask me what I like, I am absolutely telling them the things that I know drive me crazy.

I figured a lot of people would feel the same way. I know when I was a client in the past, I would look for faces. I want to know I’m attracted to the person and to me that starts with their face.

Yeah it’s a good idea! I noticed the number of views my profile receives yesterday was up! I’m guessing putting my ad in my signature here had something to do with it. (If only those extra views resulted in bookings!)

Gold is $80, standard is $30. Definitely worth it if it even brings me one client I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I have no clue about platinum.

Hey guys! Looking for some advice from the experts! I know that building up clients and such is something that simply takes time. But I would also think that as with most things, there’s ways you can boost your visibility and proactively stir up interest. I just don’t have any idea where to begin. I know reviews would help but I’ve only seen one client so far and he indicated that he doesn’t do this regularly so even though he seemed to have a great time (and genuinely, I did), I’m not surprised that I didn’t get a review from him. And too much time has passed for me to ask (saw him Saturday) plus I wonder if it’s even okay to ask. I have my ad on Rentmen and now Rentboy.pro (it’s free, so why not?) Right now I just have a standard membership on RM. Would upgrading to gold increase my chances of picking up some more business? Is there anything else I can be doing to promote myself? So far I’ve gotten contacted by about five people. Three didn’t follow up (one was for an potential weekend trip but didn’t want to speak on the phone, which made me uncomfortable so I let that die out) and one I met and a second I’m arranging to meet. Maybe I’m actually doing well for someone who just started this late last week, haha. I definitely own a few ties, a couple of suites, and even a custom made tuxedo from my wedding a few years ago (it didn't work out, but the tux still fits!) I plan to dress up and post a pic or two like that. So how do you guys suggest strumming up interest? Does it just take time? Should I plunge for the gold membership? I only have the regular now, I'm assuming I could upgrade for the rest of the price. I know these things just take time, but given the nature of things I'd like to start building a base of clients asap just in case.
