I’m also a NordVPN customer; it solves many problems related to living in Europe but helping elderly parent in Phoenix for various deliveries (Fry's, Walmart, CVS, ...) and appointments. I've not noticed any performance degradation when it's running. It's really easy to use - when I need my browser to behave as if I was in Phoenix - I open the VPN app, choose Phoenix server... and that's it... everything behaves like I'm in Phoenix. When done I disconnect in the app (and then close it), and everything goes back to normal (whatever normal is).

<smile> probably already solved, speaking only about the n-thousand servers at work which are the bane to my existence; our windows farms run domain time client which slew away any discrepancies... so missing a leap second will only effect geeks that follow us in a thousand years, who will likely stand by and wonder how their ancestors could have been so dumb.... that and possibly Kerberos authentication might get a bit twitchy if it pushes a server over its limit.

We get a 12-footer from Scotland each year... but we've not been allowed to keep the Scottish guys who deliver it...

pleading the fifth on this one... my journey to work is quite a joy (suited city types), only eclipsed by evening commutes (lots of scruffy, tired, 20/30 year old construction workers)...

This morning I fell in love. I was on the train heading to work, oblivious of my surroundings, when he entered the carriage. Mid 20's... Spanish, no, Argentinian, no, maybe Brazilian, no, possibly Portuguese, no , possibly Italian... Slightly over six-foot, impeccable dark suit and tie, white shirt... short hair, but hadn't shaved today... and the most impossibly deep brown or black eyes... the type of eyes you sink into... the type of face you could kiss for hours, eyes you could romantically stare into on a rainy Saturday, cuddling together on sofa beneath a woolen blanket, watching old black and white movies as the rain beat against the windows... the perfect definition of limerence... we were pressed against each other for the next five stops through central london as the train remained crowded... he smelt wonderful: it wasn't cologne, couldn't place it if it was Molton Brown... it wasn't bergamot, more woody, musky... and just as I was ready to commit to him forever we reached Bank station, and, in a blink, he was gone.... I'm bereft, but ever since I've thought how wonderful he smelt... Anyhow, the question really is: which body wash/shampoo most attracts you to other guys ?

I've been following this thread thinking no one was going to claim they ever met someone who was too big; many years ago my taste in guys and porn started changing... I found myself returning to one advert in Qx magazine, added his number to my phone, and spent many a night watching porn and fantasizing about him fucking me... I need to now state: I've pretty much always been a top, early experience in Manhattan as a teen with glory holes; then University, and once in London found that my cut cock (large, not huge) got a lot of attention so the pattern hadn't changed much... this one fateful night I had been out drinking with colleagues, was quite horny, decided to call and see if he was available... I called, he was , and off I went to his for a bit of fun. Well, up until this evening I had, at most, bottomed once a year, often alcohol was involved, and never really thought about size. This evening was not atypical... got to his, we started playing, eventually he lined himself up, lots of lube, and entered... and at that moment realized his 10 inches would never fit; though my mind might be saying yes, my sphincter staged a coup.... within 5 minutes I was dressed, had paid, and was on the tube heading home... It was many years before I bottomed again, and only after carefully choosing a very vanilla guy with perfectly averaged sized cock, masses of lube, poppers, and a bit of weed... that story aside, this thread also reminds me Susie Derkins in Calvin and Hobbes...

Aussie series THE NEWSREADER on Roku channel
keefer replied to samhexum's topic in TV and Streaming services
Newsreader, episode 5 was incredible; besides content and reliving the year was realization I knew the person misquoted in the episode - I was 22, met Rob at a party thrown for Montrose Clinic and Switchboard volunteers (in Houston). Have sat here staring at the screen reliving our three months together for the past hour... @samhexum - thank you. -

Watched the first episode last night; and had to peel myself away from the tele after binging first three episodes... -
I write, erase, rewrite Erase again, and then thoughts now gone.

I suspect the Heath was packed overnight with people too hot to sleep 😇
-
🤪 instantly reminded me of the hand drawn map of Manhattan, adjacent to it were the boroughs and a bit of New Jersey; and the rest of the world was clearly marked as unimportant features faded in the distance..... so of course it was NYC 😇🤪

Incredible investment.... I suspect tonight a huge number of providers would gratefully pay you for an all-nighter 😇

London is at a slightly higher latitude than Calgary... we normally need nice warm sweaters (jumpers) and hot chocolate... at the moment I’d kill for an ice bath

yep, it was very hot today and tomorrow is going to be worse...

I took my earlier quotes from LBC, and though I adore James O'Brien, I'm starting not to trust their weather predictions; BBC has a more subdued view on the week; with a high of 36 forecast for Sunday; which is nothing compared to what most of the US is going through... To be honest, the Brits will just get on with it; worst case scenario will be we'll sit in a darkened room and deny summer is happening...
-
Latest forecasts have a plume of heat working its way north from Spain/Portugal on Sunday, and dropping back to normal summertime next week; with numbers matching what you've posted... Though I somehow survived two years in Houston was always happiest during Colorado autumn/winter; As a bear I start to grumble whenever temperatures rise above 70; once they hit 80 it could be a mere 109 or 212 - all much the same to me....

Received an invite two weeks ago to participate in the NHS-Galleri trial; a new blood test which in theory can find signs of up to 50 different cancer types in the blood; developed in the US (Menlo Park && Raleigh Durham) - they are trying to get 140k volunteers in the UK to participate, giving two vials of blood once a year for three years.... A simple blood test to spot the earliest signs of cancer - long before health deteriorates or other diagnostics spot it ? I was impressed, signed up and gave blood Friday... Anyone else participating or thinking about it ? https://grail.com/ https://www.nhs-galleri.org/about-the-trial

LBC (London Radio) has just announced they're predicting 43 C in London next weekend. For convenience of American friends, for Londoners that is roughly the equivalent of 212 F with gentle breeze.
-
Exactly! The UK uses quite a strange mix of measurements: temperature? Celsius ... distance ? well mostly miles, feet, inches; but also meters, and if you jog then its kilometers... weight? stones (don't ask)... fluid is mostly metric, except for milk or beer... I often have to explain sticks of butter, or lend measuring cups/spoons to friends trying American recipes... In any event I'm used to translating Celsius to Fahrenheit when talking relatives in Arizona; and converting back to Celsius to explain to colleagues that Arizona summer is not unlike living in a blast furnace.
-
Currently 60 degrees in London, tomorrow we're expecting 74 and sunny... I have a number of Scottish friends who might melt.

My baby sister has perfected chocolate chip cookie edibles... she swears by first infusing butter then reforming into sticks before improving an old family recipe... I've never managed more than splitting the cookie into eighths... it's guaranteed grandma's recipe will live on for another few generations and had added benefit of teaching my nephew to cook.
-
With the added benefit that lube or other fluids can safely be washed off the notes.... all just a theoretical observation 😇
