Well, I am recently down about 60# since the beginning of the year...and he is pretty slender. Also, I’m 6’3”.

Where do you practice? Maybe I’ll come see you...lol

That's not a lot of weight.
I don't understand why you say you're a big guy.
Two grown men at 200 each is perfectly acceptable and nowhere near big or table breaking capacity

Yikes that’s awkward! . Lol. My worst nightmare....

Just saw a masseur who was doing a technique and standing on my back. He was holding himself up on bars but at one point said he had his full weight on me. I did a rough calculation and our combined weight was around 430#. I thought to myself at the time I was glad the table was sturdy.

I've had my table break in the past from a very large client.
Although I never ask weight before I see a client. My current table can handle static weight of 1000 lbs.
However there are some tables that handle half that in static weight and a little less in working weight. So I can understand why some may inquire.

That being said, it really shouldn't be necessary to ask, as most good tables are affordable and are capable of holding plenty of weight.

I am a big as well and I used to not disclose that info to masseurs or escorts. And I wouldn't respond if they asked for my height and weight.

And now I inform my potential hires of my size because I would hate to have a masseur or escort not really put any effort into what they are doing...also a masseur told me he asks for peoples weight because his table had a weight limit so there is that possibility even though I've never heard that from any other masseur.

Thanks for sharing this. Glad you can relate but for different reasons. Couldn’t agree with you more on your perspective about professional masseurs.

    Hey guys,

I’m a big guy, so typically when looking for a new provider I naturally gravitate to those who specify in the post that they welcome “all body types”. However, those are not very common and there are masseurs that I’m interested in who do not include this. In these cases I will ask up front if they are open to working with larger sized clients and gauge from their response.

Sometimes I get back a positive response and book accordingly, other times a very carefully worded lukewarm reaction and I decide to pass. Ive never had anyone blatantly reply negatively, but occasionally get no reply....which I consider a “no” response.

I’ve found for me this helps to avoid awkward or uncomfortable situations. The pros have seen it all and understand that part of the job is accepting different people. Those that assume all clients should fit their preference are in the wrong business. Many men (esp “hot” gay men) being unattracted to overweight people is to be expected...believe me, I get that. I’m not saying they need to change their ideas of what they consider attractive, but maybe rethink your career choice.

I’ve been very pleasantly surprised with masseurs who have been welcoming and kind, and who didn’t at all make me feel different. On the flip side I have experienced those who I just felt were not into it...going through the paces for a buck.

I would not just take a gamble and just hope for a good vibe. Being up front gives the provider an opportunity to bow out gracefully and saves me the money and my dignity in the process.

    Curious how others handle this?

In my experience the reaction you can expect depends on whether the masseur is truly professional. Most guys on these sites are not doing it because it is their career. They are doing it to make some money, perhaps to tie them over until they can move on to something else. The rate of turnover (comings and goings) should support my position. A true professional is ready for all types. The others are not.

It is odd, I have the opposite problem. I have always been a skinny runt! I live in fear that the guy will turn to me and say: 'Dude, you are all skin and bone; there is not enough for me to work with!!!'

As someone who has seen Ryan a few times I wanted to hopefully qualify this, as “weird” can be a bit subjective. From my observation he seems like an introvert. So the social interaction of meeting essentially strangers does seem uncomfortable to him. Could also be chemistry. Not sure. So, yeah the small talk was a bit forced, but I did not at all feel any of this in the massage itself.

    Gentlemen,

This guy is the real deal. Saw him today for a massage while he was visiting Oakland. Totally enjoyed the massage...he is very thorough and puts a lot of care into it for sure. Agree with another post that he was soft spoken when I first arrived, but was very personable, engaging, and talkative after the massage. He was not rushing me out the door like some do...sat and chatted for a bit well passed the scheduled time.

He is a very nice guy. Totally unaffected by how stunningly beautiful he is. Kind with absolutely no pretense or aloofness that some guys seem to develop when they look like he does. And sexy Russian accent!

sfguy72 got a reaction from Kcdave in want more from long time massage therapist
I generally go for massage with extras, but a few years ago I really messed up my neck and was desperate for a genuinely good massage to help. None of the previous "sensual" masseurs I thought could do the trick. So I looked in CL and found a guy. Handsome in his pic, but more importantly the ad read like he was skilled. So I booked with him.

My first session was great and he really knew what he was doing. Focused on my neck, he was very knowledgeable and was able to alleviate the pain. He even gave me stretching exercises to do on my own to continue the healing. He is gay and in person was very sexy. I was there for legit massage and that's exactly what I got. He was fully clothed the whole time and I was draped. I secretly hoped extras would happen, but no. I did get an erection but it was ignored. But I didn’t care b/c I was totally satisfied since the massage was such high quality. So much so that I booked a second session maybe a month or two later.

Second session was just like the first: draped, legit, and amazing again. Didn't think I would repeat with provider that didn't provide "sensual" techniques.

Third session was much like the first two. At this point I was not even thinking it was more than a really great massage. Well...Half way through the session he brushed up against my hand and I swore he was hard. Thinking it was accidental and telling myself I must be mistaken that he was erect I didn't give it any more thought....until the same thing happened on the other side. Still a little hesitant I waited for the 3rd and 4th "accidental" brush and decided to be bold and rub a little back on his shorts with my fingers. He was definitely hard! Repeated this game a few times. He kept me draped, but with each pass and stroke up my leg to thigh, he went a little higher and the sheet covered less and less until a good portion of my business was exposed... I was obviously very excited. HE and mutual touch occurred, then more excellent massage technique. Felt like I struck gold. In addition he is really sweet, engaging, and smart. We had some really nice conversations.

I saw him a number of times after and they were like the third visit. Sadly he has moved away and I think has stopped doing massage. Haven’t found anyone else who matches the skill and fun mixed in.
