No one is out there 24 hours a day, yes? I don’t know how many hours they do work, but i’m sure it’s much less than that. Back when I was in college in the early 80’s, the phone sex industry took off, with those 550 and 976 exchanges that cost way more money than they were worth lol - but I’m sure the men and women doing the service were making a nice bit of change. Seems to me that the cams are just one way that that sort of interaction has extended into the internet age. When I first got on the internet around 2001, I found a lot of dorm/frat type sites where you could browse around a number of rooms and see who was on and fooling around...do those still exist? The setup always seemed phony to me (of course) but the sex was really happening - again, mostly masturbating, while they texted back and forth with the online voyeurs. Frankly, after seeing this a few times I found it to get very boring. And I have to say I just have no interest in that anymore at all. If an escort posts videos in his ad (or if a potential hookup has done an xtube vid etc) it can be fun to see, it then it’s also about getting to see a guy I actually might meet having some fun. That’s potentially hot. But just watching some random guy jo on cam - not so much.

2019 - Coming to Broadway "Epic Gay Play"
bostonman replied to edjames's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
Every time I see this thread title I want to think that the name of the play being discussed here is Epic Gay Play. I suppose kind of like [Title Of Show] if it weren't a musical - and if it were much longer. Or, maybe, The Play That Goes Gay? -
Ten years is also a lot of time. Her eyesight may simply be worse than it was 10 years ago. I wouldn't find that strange.
-
Right. Probably just when she needs to see the teleprompter.

I think that's easy. Most of us don't think about the context of where we are most of the time - we just tend to think that the web is accessible, period. Same for phone apps. We don't expect things to be blocked, even if they are sites we normally wouldn't tend to use at work. I don't think that's all that strange. -
I don't mind modest tattoos, especially if they're truly done well. What I hate is scribbling. I don't know if there's a term for this style, because it seems fairly common - but the guys who get words or phrases in cursive/fancy "fonts" all across their chest, etc - to me it's very ugly. I don't see what the attraction to that is. http://tattoospedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Chest%20Tattoos/are%20chest%20tattoos%20easy%20to%20hide%205.jpg

Indeed - I don't think it's uncommon for businesses to block adult sites - and even more specifically, in venues where children may be. Funny story, though - shorty after the demise of the Cragigslist personals, with the advent of SESTA/FOSTA, I was at one of my jobs, tried to log in on my phone to one of the sites I follow (can't remember which) and got an error message. My instinct was to panic, thinking that that site had also just been targeted. But then I realized it was simply being blocked by the business' wifi, as it always would have been. I guess I had just never tried to use that site with that wifi before. -
She had that tendency, I guess. Much as I love her Peter Pan, for instance, the same thing happens there. There was also a televised production of I Do! I Do! with Hal Linden and Lee Remick. I remember enjoying that one.

There was a high-profile off-Broadway revival in 1996, with the wonderful Karen Ziemba and David Garrison. (Garrison, btw, was in the original cast of A Day In Hollywood, A Night In The Ukraine, a show we've been discussing on another thread in this section of the forum.) The production was recorded commercially on CD. It would be, of course, fun to see a large-scale revival happen...but who would star? What 2 musical theatre actors have the star cache, the acting chops to play the 25-year span of the plot, and even more importantly, the chemistry? Might be something for a subscription-based theatre like the Roundabout to consider, though - or at very least, Encores.

A Day in Hollywood, a Night in the Ukraine
bostonman replied to + Cock Eyed Optimist's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
I've done it - though it was a slightly cut-down dinner theatre production. Very very fun show. It was actually part of my first season doing summer stock, straight out of college, in a now-defunct theatre in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Lousy theatre (great learning experience), wonderful cast, great place to spend the summer. But Hollywood/Ukraine - yes! Really clever stuff, and Act II is hilarious. For those of you unfamiliar with the show (and I'm sure that's most of you) - it's a zany tribute to Hollywood in the 30's, set in Graumann's Chinese, and performed by the ushers. Act I is more or less a revue (some bits of classic songs and material, though mostly original songs) looking back at the world of 30's movies. Most of it quirky and comedic, occasionally more earthbound (a wonderfully rueful song called "Best In The World" about an usher's fickle moment of fame on the big screen). There's a tribute to Richard Whiting, who wrote a number of famous tunes in that era - the cast not only sing the songs, but add in comic instrumental touches (a baritone sax playing "Good Ship Lollipop", twin melodicas for "Double Trouble" etc). Wonderfully silly. The tour-de-force in Act I is a tap/rap number explaining the infamous Hayes Production Code. (Video, from the Tony awards, below). Act II is the "feature presentation" of the evening - A Night In The Ukraine. This is literally (sort of) a rewrite of Chekhov's The Bear as if it were a Marx Brothers movie. (Imagine Animal Crackers set in a Russian country estate.) And when you have a cast that can really do the Marx Brothers characters (and by and large, I did) it is really hysterical. A fun fact - Jerry Herman contributed a few songs to the score. As for theatres doing the show nowadays, I don't know. (It's a tough show because it does need 6-8 very skilled singer/actors who can hold their own, do a creditable Marx Brothers role, and also tap proficiently - though in my production we cheated on the tap - maybe I'll post the crazy stories about that later lol.) I do know that Boston Conservatory just did a small production of it, but I was unable to see it due to my being in another show at the same time. Personally, I'd love to do it again. -
One clarification - he didn't originally send me a note - but he did visit my profile (and I got that notification). The puzzling part is why he was checking out my profile. (And indeed, that when I did send him a message confirming that and also expressing my interest in his ad, it still seems strange that he wouldn't have responded at all. Maybe he was too busy making up new screennames????)
-
I would say that wasn't Cooper's job - that job fell to whoever wrote the narration - which as far as I'm concerned is a thankless task anyway.
-
Um, there's no chase, or haven't you been reading the thread??
-
Yes - all of that is true. But I had never seen his ad before. He saw me first.
-
Ha - very interesting So this erratic behavior seems to be his MO. Really weird. But it seems no one out here has actually met him, huh? Maybe that's not so surprising.

His current ad (as of July 8) - https://rentmen.eu/NudeMassagee A week ago, I noticed he had seen my client profile on RM. (Not sure how/why he found me, but not really worried about that.) I took a look at his ad in return and loved it. I also checked out his website (he mentioned it in his ad) and really liked the personable nature of his video self-interview, etc. He's based in DC, and I don't foresee travelling there anytime soon, especially not just for an hour lol - but I decided to send him a message anyway, saying hi, complimenting him on his ad and video, and hinting that if he ever planned to travel to Boston I'd love to meet him. I never got a reply back. Well, ok. But, given his seeming personality I do think it might have been nice to at least get a short response - even just a "I don't think I'll be travelling anytime soon but thanks for the compliments" etc. I know he's not required to do that but again, as I said, it would fit with the earnestness he seems to project. But no big deal. Meanwhile, I had already buddylisted him. Later, that same day or maybe the next, when checking my buddylist, I saw that he had changed his screenname. This happened 2 more times last week - making 4 different screennames in one week. I checked my browser history, and found the screennames. 1) PlayWithMyFeet (the one I first saw, when contacting him) 2) LickMyButt 3) TwinkVideo 4) NudeMassagee (the current one) I doubt I'll ever meet him. But I am curious if anyone has any insight into him? Are there red flags here or is he for real? Just odd.

Here's Grimes singing what I tend to think of as the breakaway hit from the show- "You'd Better Love Me."
