Legacy.com seems to be the largest aggregator of online obits. The site is connected to many newspapers. So actually obits are more accessible than ever. They publish in the paper and on the web. Personally, I like the idea of an obit. as a record of a person's life. It's certainly optional but I suspect the risks are low.

I assume that when you Google your Google Voice number nothing relevant comes up. It weird how he found your name and then linked it to a lawyer. Yikes. ( I once had a GV number that would bring up an old ad/profile for a female escort. I'd been using it for a while so I didn't bother changing my number. It might have made a few escorts wonder WTH if they searched on my number.)

It seems like a decent site. Yah, the interface is a little clunky. When I searched on San Diego , it gave me the local guys but then seamlessly included guys located over 100 miles away. So you have to click through to know if the ad is really local. And it could be easier to browse through the pictures. A good effort though.

We're starting to see $4+ per gallon here in San Diego too. This article blames refinery issues at multiple locations. “Refineries in Wilmington and Carson reported unplanned flaring as a result of breakdowns last weekend, according to Oil Price Information Service,” Spring said. I wonder what "flaring" is. It sounds really bad for the air quality. -
