I typically set my watch as soon as a provider arrives. I set it for 20 minute intervals, so I do not lose track of time. Some will become verbose and you will spend most of the hour talking, versus exploring. So as not to waste valuable time, the reminder lets the person know that I am also watching the clock and I value our time. That usually does the job. I am not shy about stating my desire to get the full hour or longer. In most cases, I prefer more than an hour, so I am comfortable and both parties are comfortable.
