  1. General question - Why do guys prefer spas over going to private masseurs?

For me, I like the spa setting because somehow it is my fantasy that the sensual stuff isn’t paid for - so it feels a little more like “oh this amazing thing is happening” by chance even though I know it is likely a guarantee.

As others mentioned, the table shower is also a draw. I saw someone say that having someone else wash them is uncomfortable but I love it. It is an ego thing to have a guy bathe me - makes me feel like a king.

  2. I work fairly close to Utopia and I’m really in need of a top notch experience.

    A couple things I like:

    - unexpected experience. A masseur who does something out of the ordinary

    - I’ve had masseurs who when massaging me, move my legs in a stretching format that exposes my penis while I’m on my stomach. I love that

    - a masseur who may consider covering my eyes with a towel to enhance my other sensations.

    - a masseur who loves to edge/tease. Not one who is in a fast wank and out.

If you know of a masseur there or elsewhere that I should try, please let me know.

    Thanks!

  3. Did Babylon potluck, drew Kevin. May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but a keeper in my book. Started with a relaxing table scrub. Nice, strong and very good technique. Uses his elbows a lot, which I love. Safes sensual til end. Love that he’s not a clock watcher. Walked into scrub room at 5.05, walked out of massage room at 6.45... $80! I’ll be back.

Is that $80 for 90 minutes? Actually 100 minutes?

Also hate to go down the tipping road again but I’m a $40 tipper on a $60 hour massage guy. So what is tip on a 90 minute massage usually?

  4. Thank you for posting this! I find this a very hot video. The experience is what I want to happen at every massage I receive!

I don’t want to finish myself off after a massage ever. I had one massage near 27/6 once. I think the spa might be closed now. Anyway the masseur gives me full massage then at the end he places my hand on my cock. I so wanted to not do it, but I also found it kinda hot that he watched me stroke myself off, so I went for it. For a one time situation, it was kinda hot but wouldn’t want that to happen again.

  5. I’ve never had a bad experience at Greenhouse. I won’t claim the boys there are the best or cutest in the world but I think this is a smear campaign by another spa.

I’ve never been hit up for “pay me good tip?” during the massage and always left happy.

On the contrary, my last visit to Time Square Spa resulted in a guy suggesting “if you want massage there, you’ll give good tip right?” I don’t mind, as it wasn’t a specific amount requested and I did plan to give a nice tip anyway.

  6. Anyone have any spots on the east side (I’m familiar with Shangrila and Utopia)?

I’m open to a spa that may also have female staff in addition to men. Or even solo providers. I’m feeling especially motivated for a rub soon and would be very convenient.

  7. So, color my intrigued....but unfamiliar with moving from a strictly therapeutic to more massage. How does that happen at a spa? Do you ask for it during the session?

There are certain spas mostly found in NYC though a couple in LA and many out of the country that are simply known for providing more than therapeutic.

In those places, you don’t need to do a thing. Lay back, relax and enjoy the ride.

The only advice I’d give is to undress completely and don’t put a towel over yourself before the masseur enters.

Obviously the only other thing one can do is to become erect when you are asked to turn over. That’s usually all a masseur needs to do the rest.

In more standard spas, a happy ending may occur but one should never plan on it and never ask. Just let the time go, moans or sighs can help. Move your hips when the masseur gets close to inner thighs or buttocks areas and hope he is feeling you.

  8. I mean tipped $80 from each one they take is impossible.

That’s why I used different assumptions of average $40 tip. I think some tip $20 and others tip $40 up to $60. Netting out at an average of $40. I don’t know if these numbers are realistic or not - just some educated guesses. I imagine Monday/Tuesday day shift is pretty slow. Maybe 1-2 customers. But hopefully on weekends they can do 6.

  9. I just got in town tonight and I’m thinking of a rub and scrub in midtown west side. What’s your first suggestion?

If by “scrub” you mean table shower, I’d try Energy Men Spa. I’d just massage and fun, Time Square.

  10. Your calculation is right. But it’s not actuality.

My math says they massage 4 guys in a day. Work 6 days a week. They take $20 of the massage price and average $40 tip. That’s $240 a day x 6 days is $1440 a week and $5,760 a month. X 12 months that’s ~ $70,000 tax free. Let’s call it the equivalent of a $100,000/year job if someone is taxed. They are “working” 4 hours a day. Waiting another 5-6 for customers killing time on their phone.

The point isn’t to get people to tip less. Just laying out facts that these guys aren’t to feel sorry for. They aren’t licensed. Most are operating without a visa and aren’t paying taxes. It’s not a bad gig.

  11. So I’ve done four hand massage before and usually ended up regretting it. But I wanted to see if anyone knew of any spa duos who are especially talented at it that I should try.

Something about two guys worshipping my body and ... really turns me on.

  12. So I’ve had my share of massages and I would agree if you’re not seasoned it might feel really odd to say “no thanks” when you see who you got, BUT, after more than a few misses and spending hundreds of my own dollars when I’m looking for a particular experience, I’ve grown more bold to say something like “sorry I was hoping for someone more (insert word young, muscular, thin, etc). At the end of the day, you’re a paying customer. While it may feel weird at first, you’ll find it was worth it to get what you want. I’ve found the Masseurs understand and move on. They are also not emotionally attached and understand the game.

  13. I had Jerry long while ago at The spa locate on 58th St ,1st Ave .Now they closed .

Is that the same Jerry who’s short and skinny? He does a fantastic massage .

    Same guy from 58/1.

  14. They text me the pics of Steven,he's very cute .Will try him next time visiting

I had Jerry who said he only works one night a week - that was a Thursday. He was very talented.

  15. Everyone has a good opinion. Can not tell whose wrong or right. I like to talk with them after i built good relationships with my favorite masseurs. Let’s analyze it little bit. 1, it’s not true they didn’t pay taxes. They have to do If want a good life when they retired. The job only short time when they are young. Nobody wants to get massage from old people right? 2, everyone need food . Shelters, transportation that also need money, not free. This is not a simple maths like you did. Spa also has high season and low season. Sometimes no client. Someone figure out they can get 720 for one week. So 1day 100, 1hr only 13 if 8 hrs a day. I don’t think this is good and enough profit for anyone. 3, some people paid tips according to 20%. I think it doesn’t work on this. For example restaurant staff severs many tables and costumers. But masseur only servers a single person. That’s definitely different. 4, most clients want great massage and more extra. Maybe the client could get great experience at the first time. But when they knew the client didn’t pay for extra. They won’t deliver more extra . Remember,no free meals at all. To be a smart man, you want happy, why not make both you and masseurs happy ? But bad service and greedy masseur those excluded in the situation. You could complain and refuse to tip definitely. Anyway treat others well you will be treated well.

This is a very long and thought out response but I don’t understand it.

You suggest these people want to be taxed for retirement?

Thank you! What is up with people on this board rationalizing lower tips by comparison to minimum wage??

I would think we appreciate our masseurs as a more specialized workforce!

i don’t disagree entirely but as many are undocumented to work (either here on student visas or no visa at all), their options for employment are usually restaurants cash only or massage.

I’m not suggesting their service is comparable to a restaurant service but still those are the options for many.

  16. I've often wanted to ask masseurs, and I've known many, if they declare their income, or part of it, or just what they do. But it's none of my business, and I never asked. I'd be interested to hear what others think.

I’d trust your first instinct of saying it’s none of my business. Do you ask friends how they file their taxes? Grocery store employees? Servers?

I think it’s a fair assumption to make that in a cash business with employees who may or may not be documented, that they aren’t reporting all of their income.

But even then, unless you work for the IRS I don’t know why it should matter to you.

  17. First of all, when you pay $60 for a massage, the masseur gets 1/3 of it. They depend on tips.

Second of all, you guys are saying "$40 an hour" is more than they can make on the street or waiting on tables. You need to remember that these guys don't work an 8-hour day. You make it sound like they make $320 a day.

Third, if a masseur ever asked me for a tip -- during the massage, no less! -- I'd complain to management, and that guy's sorry ass would be on the street real fast.

Last, and many of you may disagree, if I spend $60 for a massage, and I tip $60 (which I do at Utopia), I'm spending $120, which is probably less than I'd spend with one of my non-spa masseurs. If the experience is good, I don't mind spending $120. I go to Utopia to enjoy myself, not for a bargain.

How many massages do you think a masseur does on a non-peak day vs a peak day? 2 on a non-peak day? 3? 4-5 on a peak day?

Let’s say he does 2 on a Monday - Thursday type day. Those days he made $80 per your $20 tip example. On a weekend (Friday - Sunday) they do 4 that would be $160 on those days. A 6 day week would net you $240 + $480 or $720. Mind you this is also tax free (if we want to talk about fair, why am I responsible for paying taxes and they are not?) $720 a week works out to be $34,000/year no tax. I’m not suggesting this is a luxury life they are living but considering it requires no education

Hmm... what the market could bare?!? You may very well be right but I find it pretty unlikely they were giving "discounts" because they thought demand would lessen. I find it much more likely that it was their way of telling their patrons at least the minimum required for the HE.

thats an interesting way of looking at it.

The other more realistic way is that on a Monday at 1 pm, they need to incent customers to visit so they reduce their prices.

  18. How could you have a good overall experience if you perceive that person is going to act out violently? He may have been expecting a 60% tip I know when they gave me that line and I would just say how much. Plus the establishment already gave you a discount to knock it down to the $60 price I pretty sure the regular price was somewhere around $100 and they gave a 40-50% discount depending on what time you came in.

I maybe wrong but wasn't he one of their more popular masseur named Jack or was that the long haired guy. I forget have not been there for years.

It isn’t a “discount” it’s what the market will bear. That’s the glory of a free market. If they want $100 but need to discount to get customers, then the discount price is actually the right price (at least at that moment).

No one in business reduces price out of the kindness of their heart.

  19. I'm talking about the guys who went to a place where the charge was like $60, they received something above and beyond a massage, and think their $20 tip was good. $20 is a good tip on a $60 massage that is just a massage. For other stuff, you should be paying considerably more.

This goes back to the old question of - if the value of something is greater than the price is, they should charge more. I agree that a $20 tip is bare minimum, but people who lecture that a tip should be 100% (or $60) or more are also over-tipping in my mind. But that’s their right just as it is someone’s right to tip $20-30.
