I think it was 1978 or 1979 when gas prices went over a dollar. The gas pumps weren't prepared. So one had to double whatever the price on the pump said. I remember the first time for me. It was lunch hour. I wasn't paying attention. I only had a few dollars on me. After I filled up I had no money left to buy lunch.

Imo the show has improved over the years. At first I didn't like adding the females but it helped. I didn't like Howard being a whoremonger nor Raj being unable to talk to a woman unless he was drunk. I do wish that one of the characters had been gay.
