You could inquire him about the reasons of his behaviour; pointing out how from your point of view the whole thing has become creepy and/or annoying, and above all how you can't make sense out of it (rightfully so, doesn't he realize how wacky he looks?). So that hopefully you can better understand who you're dealing with, and how to firmly, politely and reasonably write your way out of this with peace of mind for both. Of course you might end up with no other option than blocking him anyway (which IMO sounds rather quick and safe), but it is my understanding OP doesn't want to just go straight for it.

The guy from your example sounds more like an intentional timewaster rather than somebody sincerely interested and then changing his mind; hence I'm unsure of which cases you're considering. In my experience, when somebody hasn't booked yet and wants to walk away, he'll just walk away.

I don't know him, but did he got caught like that, meeting a first-timer? That would be quite hazardous. I'm unsure about what you exactly mean with this. If A and B meet each other and PnP, who's "we"? Are you suggesting that illegal activities furtherly solicit authorities to do crackdowns (for example against websites)?

On the contrary, it's my bad that I haven't found this before. It's exactly what I was looking for, thank you! On a side note, something doesn't add up since I see days with no unique visits at all but several totals. Not a big deal but has me wondering.

I guess bottom feeders will keep trying their luck as they always did; it's not like they lack stubbornness, right? Most of the issue depends upon RM itself and/or the other platforms, since I don't see providers nor clients coordinating on anything on a large scale. Besides, I'd like to ask to the other providers: do you see RM and the other professional sites being flooded with cheap/newcomers/etc providers as well as clients? Does RM US offer to providers 1-month (and beyond...) free subscription, like the EU does? After all, I don't foresee major changes: Grindr and others are still out there, and even timewasters don't want to waste their time with providers asking for too much, right? You'll have a few of them "learn", few others have more patience, but most will stick to other habitats.
