Oh dear. Yeah I was reading on some older travel forums about the various forms of extortion that used to go on there - some it it directly targeting tourists, where cafes and small bars would get tourists there, keep bringing them food and drink, and then present the tourists with a gigantic bill, and then have the heavies on hand to stand over you to accompany you to the ATM to withdraw the exorbitant amount. I was reading further that in recent years, the city authorities have been aggressively pursuing and closing down these business ones these practices are reported, so it’s far less common these days.

I was there in July. Apart from the obvious amazing sights in the city, i was surprised at how prevelant the English language was there, and just how much of a party town it was - it seemed the whole city was out on the Saturday night - and SO many tourists. Just walking around the city centre you can hear all the various accents of English - Scottish, Irish , American, New Zealanders, Australians.

What was the not so pleasant experience? (If you don’t mind me asking)

Ive seen it talked about on here previously, that a few of these newish, fringe straight guy’s are quite often represent by a pimp, possibly someone who scouted them out in the first place, through social media. I wonder if it’s possible if it wasn’t him giving the curt-attitude-laden replies?

Interesting to note though, this British hottie lad in the Instagram account (who’s photos this rentmen escort at the start of the thread has clearly ripped off), was saying in an earlier Instagram post that he’s 8 weeks into the start of his university degree, and he’s already blown his entire student loan. The guy who owns the rentmen profile, that’s stolen his photos, might be a fake, but perhaps the original Instagram model is in need of a quick cash injection into his life

Yeah, I’ve seen the full version of that particular photo set on a tumblr page, that included the face. Very hot looking kid, but he was around 20. 23 max. Not the 28 years old that the rentmen profile age is listed as.

I still tend to think it’s all about the hotness of the guy involved. Fancy hotels do nothing for me, as I only really use a hotel for sleep, sex, showering, and clothes storage for when I’m visiting a city - it’s about the city. A hot guy can make any situation hot - whether it be jumping the fence at night at the local horse racing track to hookup with him, or hooking up with him in a cramped bedroom. Try a fancy hotel with a non-hottie and you’ll have your answer

I’m not advocating it, but I do wonder what would be Adonis Lounge Management’s reaction to hearing this specific horror story of deplorable behaviour? I spose it could be easy for them to brush it aside by declaring that management doesn’t endorse extra-curricular meetings with dancers. Still, surely it’s not a good look for any business to have such a loathsome employee

I look forward to the not-too-distant future when cash is socially extinct. I’ve managed to go the last 11 months here in Australia without having cash in my wallet (and once they upgrade to drivers license that I can legally store on my phone, I can retire my wallet completely over here) I just use the Apple pay on my phone for absolutely everything, and if I’ve bought something for a friend on request and they want to pay me back, I’ve asked that they transfer it electronically. Ofcourse it was impossible to avoid cash on my trip through Europe and the US in July and August this year. The paying for public toilets in Germany for instance drove me nuts, as I was usually unprepared in having small change on hand. In Berlin, I was working out at an awesome outdoor gym down in Wilmersdorf (shirtless hotties galore!), and after I had finished I was walking back to the hotel, and really needed to go to the toilet. I came across a park that had a toilet block there, but as I got closer, it had an old lady sitting out the front with a little silver tray, where you are supposed to put your €1 euro coin when you use the toilet. I had nothing on me, so I quickly googled the nearest restaurant , and ordered some food that I didn’t really want, so that I could dash in and use their toilet!
