I had an escort once contact me to ask if I was serious about setting something up or if I was just going to keep looking at his pictures forever. He seemed pissed. I had never contacted him. I stopped looking at his ad and never arranged a meeting.
On the other hand, I once had another escort contact me after I viewed his pictures. He was friendly and I appreciated the initiative. I followed through with a meeting.

I realize that there are those that like to use us as self gratification. One never knows if a "Personal Hello might open up a conversation.

I get that a bit... what’s creepy is when you start getting emails asking for explicit details of a meeting. One guy was getting a little persistent and so I found a Pornhub 90 minute compilation of cum shots and sent him the link and told him I videoed our session. He never emailed me again.

OP here... some interesting responses.
The reason I asked this question is simple. One day I was just looking around on RM and noticed that you could do a detailed search which also included clients. It made wonder if this happens.
It appears that some clients do not like it if an escorts contacts them first. Then there are those clients that like a Nice "Hello" from an escort making first contact.
As for myself, I have sent that "Hello" as an acknowledgement to a client that has checked out my profile. Especially if a client that has checked my profile out several times. I wonder if they are shy/nervous and need that door to opened on my end.... It's just in my nature to be friendly.

I had a escort contact me after I checked out his profile. I wasn't offended but wasn't really thrilled either. I wasn't surprized that he could see my profile, the little that is on it. I did wonder if he read it or it was an auto response to all who look. I guess the creepy part was he is just not what I am looking for. Actually if he hit me up in a bar for free I'd shoot him down, Maybe a little harsh, I don't doubt he is a decent guy, but am just not into him. I don't know if a guy on my buddy list just hit me up, if it would get me to hire him over someone else on my list.

I turn off the feature where escorts can see if I visited their profile on RM. When I had it on, I would occasionally get messages (this happens more with PRO ads on A4A I find). It felt sort of awkward if an escort messaged me and I have no interest in hiring. I just wouldn't reply. Which seems rude but also it doesn't waste anymore of their time on someone who isn't interested.

I prefer for guys to message me.

I've had a few messages from escorts along the line of "Hey...what's up?". It must be that they see that I'm online. It doesn't bother me but I haven't replied to any of them. If I'm interested in an escort, I will contact them.

I really appreciate it when an escort contacts me on rentmen.... perhaps because I live in the overcrowded New York market, and it is a good way to "differentiate" -- and I often will hire the gentleman who makes himself known to me (btw: i maintain an open client profile on RM, pics and all)

The equation is simple for me. If I am attracted to him to the point of hiring I like to be contacted. If I would not hire him, it is annoying.

Only if the customer has looked at my profile might I contact him to say hello.

I've been contacted after looking at a guy's ad & I don't mind it. The only time I do is if I look at the ad again later, and the escort contacts me again with the exact same message, as if we've never messaged before.
