Never hired in SF, but from what I hear, for SF, your price seems about right. If you reduce a bit, you’ll get more bookings, which could result in more money overall, but do you want more bookings? Would you have the time and the energy? If you increase, you get less bookings but a little more money for each, so the loss of income would be there but maybe not too bad, which, in certain periods of your life might be a convenient arrangement. You can experiment a bit to see the impact of your price changes for new potential clients. (I don’t recommend to increase for your regulars, that might piss them off).

Having more work requests than you want or need to do is a really good position to be in. You must be doing something right during the meets (and at the gym). Another way to reduce the number of requests while keeping the same income is to increase your price. That’s a bummer for me as a client, but I can’t say “it’s a supply&demand market” when it suits me, and refuse to say it when it is not in my favour. That would be hypocritical, wouldn’t it?

I don’t understand. In the very rare cases where you miss your connection, you just arrive at your destination a day later. Why is it such a big issue that you take that much precautions to avoid it, and loose a full day every time, instead of rarely? Are you at risk of pissing off a client? My husband and I are the same size and build, so we have only one wardrobe with all of our clothes in it. None if it was ever “only mine” or bought for me, and if he ever considered that he bought something for himself, I would not know and just wear it anyway. I also assume you wouldn’t accept a booking that long without knowing it is going to be a good weekend? If you don’t know the client and don’t trust him, you realise you could end up in a nightmare situation where the chemistry is terrible for a whole 2 days and 2 nights? So the question of a flaky client is irrelevant, you would already know that this client is not a flake. As a client if I pay for your flight, yes, you give me your full name, so I can book it for you. No I am not just sending you the money so you can book it yourself. But realistically, if I pay for your flight, it is because we know each other well enough from previous meets. I don’t think I would fly someone I have never met.

Especially a useless one where you can’t even pull up a map of the city you are in.
