Questions regarding escorts reactions to client’s age, ethnicity, and weight are constantly coming up on this site. The solution is really quite simple. At an early stage of communication with an escort upload him regarding age, physical appearance, activity level and sexual likes and dislikes. I always provide this information to an escort I’m interest in hiring and conclude by asking him to contact me if none of the information is a problem for him. I’m 75 and if the guy I’m communicating with doesn’t want to play with someone my age he simply doesn’t have to respond -- this has happened ONLY once and at that time I was in my 60’s.

The ABSOLUTE KEY to having a successful get together with any escort is ALWAYS honest COMMUNICATION.

Let me apologize for this dissertation (diatribe, rant) right up front. My only excuse is that I’m a former art history teacher. The history of artistic representations of Christ crucified is interesting to say the least.

The Romans used crucifixion as a form of execution only for the lowest criminals. Those individuals to be crucified were stripped naked (an importation point later) and either nailed or tied to a cross and left to die. An important point to remember about Christ is that he was a carpenter and had thus performed hard physical labor during the first thirty years of his life. That type of work would have created the body of a man not that of a twelve year old boy or a eunuch. During the first centuries in which Christianity was spreading throughout the Roman Empire Christ was NOT portrayed on a cross because of the criminal association with that form of execution. He was portrayed as the Good Sheppard fully clothed standing amongst a flock of sheep.

By the time of the fall of Rome and the descent of Western Europe into the Middle Ages the stigma a representing Christ crucified had dissipated, HOWEVER, the very thought of representing him naked had become unthinkable. It was also during this period that Christ’s body segued into that of a twelve year old boy or a eunuch wearing a loin cloth.

Male nude sculpture came back into vogue during the Italian Renaissance; however, the representation of a fully nude Christ was still highly controversial. The only Renaissance sculptor willing to portray a fully nude Christ on the cross was Michelangelo – surprise. That statue still exists and can be seen not in the Vatican collection but rather on the altar of the Church of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva in Rome near the Pantheon. Unfortunately Christ is no longer nude. Long after Michelangelo’s death the prudes in the Vatican were offended by the portrayal of Christ’s genitals and a bronze loin cloth was added.

I have a born again religious nut of a nephew who absolutely loved the Mel Gibson film The Passion of Christ. On day I became weary of hearing him expound on how historical correct the film was. He was shocked when I asked him if, Jim Caviezel, the actor portraying Christ was circumcised. He immediately wanted to know why I asked and how he could possibly know if Caviezel was circumcised or not. I smugly informed that Christ was a Jew and would thus have been circumcised and that if the film was really historically accurate he would have been naked on the cross. He sputtered for a moment and then answered that Caviezel wore of loin cloth at which point I smiled sweetly and said well then the film wasn’t historically correct was it.

I apologize again for the diatribe.

I always ask potential hires what their fee would be for thee hours including about an hour for lunch or dinner. If it averages out at $200 an hour or less I'm a go if more I'm a pass. We have had near 0 inflation for the last couple of years so I find these increases hard to justify. Now if these guys can get it more glory to them they just won't get it from me.

I taught Advanced Placement Art History yet I have very mixed feeling about various art museums.

    1. Louvre – I absolutely HATE this museum. I hate the constant crowds besides 75% of the contents is pure shit. The other 25% is quite wonderful if you can get close enough to enjoy it.
    2. D’Orsay - I absolutely LOVE this museum. Although I’m not a great fan of Impressionism the lay out and setting are great.
    3. Uffizi – Probably my favorite art museum. 90% of its contents are wonderful. Crowds can be daunting but if one goes early or late it’s fine.
    4. New York Metropolitan – Some really wonderful things but also a good amount of junk. Its special exhibitions are frequently outstanding. The price is right – donation only requested.
    5. J. Paul Getty – A perfect example where the building architecture takes precedent over the contents. One spends a great deal of time going up and down and up and down. Richard Meier could have cared less about properly displaying the art works. It was all about his building. He absolutely hated Robert Irwin’s garden design and walked off the site when he could not get it changed to meet his idea of what it should be. As far as I'm concerned the best thing about this museum IS the garden.
    6. The Norton Simons – Is a very nice small museum in Pasadena, CA that has a few really nice things and very small crowds.
    7. British Museum – Not really an art museum but has a large numbers of very interesting things including the Elgin Marbles (now for the sake of political correctness called the Parthenon Marbles), and the Rosetta Stone.
All of the above are great places to guy watch.

P.S. I have always wanted to visit the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and they are both on my bucket list.

WilliamM I have never visited St. Petersburg thus I can’t comment on the Hermitage.
I did, however, neglect to mention two museums and one palace in Madrid.

The Prado - has probably the best collection of Spanish art of any museum in the world.
The Reina Sofia- is worth a visit if for no other reason than that Picasso’s Guernica resides there.
Palacio Liria (the Madrid home of the Alba family) - A year before my trip I applied for a visit. It is a home but damn what a home considering some of the magnificent Goya’s housed there. My tour was in Spanish and was led by the family’s chief archivist. Frankly it was an experience I will never forget and will always treasure.

When I visit the Barnes, and I will, I will definitely take you up on the lunch offer

Just about everything about art is opinion NOT fact. Much of what hangs in major art museums in NOT great art. It is frequently what was or is currently politically correct art.
