  1. Hey Purplekow when you talk to Victor tell that if he does agree to attend the Palm Springs Weekend he could easily fill up his dance card. I, for example, would definitely look forward to setting up a get together with him.
  2. I do not know Dreamboyy in the biblical sense but I did spend some social time with him at a Palm Springs Weekend a couple of years ago. He is a sweetheart, looks exactly like his rentmen photographs, and sports a huge uncut cock.
  3. I find it interesting that, being located in Boston, he is using the name Kieran. Very similar to that of, long time, Boston, bodybuilder escort, Ben Kieren.
  4. Now someone needs to talk him into attending the upcoming Palm Springs Weekend. Purplekow you now have an assignment.
  5. Another place some might enjoy visiting is the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Annenberg: Sunnylands. The Annenberg's were close friends of President and Mrs. Reagan and the Reagan's frequently vacationed there. The grounds are stunning and the modern art collection in the house is outstanding. Tickets can be purchased through the Sunnylands web site www.sunnylands.org
  6. Mike taking the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway from the desert floor to the top of the mountain is a great idea if you have never done it. I have always wanted to make the trip BUT I am so terrified of heights that just thought of doing it puts me into a cold sweat. If you do take the trip be prepared for a 15 - 20 degree F difference between the desert floor and the mountain top. The views on a clear day are supposed to be wonderful.
  7. Latbear4blk from the Canyon Club you will definitely be able to walk to the Saturday night dinner which in the past has been at Trio. You will also be able to walk into downtown Palm Springs. You will not, however, be able to walk to Oliver's new digs but hitching a ride with another attendee should NOT be a problem. If you want to do some sightseeing in the Palm Springs area you will definitely need a car. It all just depends on what you want to do.
  8. If I were contemplating retiring in Northern California, which I'm not, I would most likely move to Healdsburg in Sonoma County. I is a lovely small town in the middle of a major wine producing area. It has the added advantage of being only about 70 miles (about a two hour drive considering traffic) north of San Francisco.
  9. It is really interesting reading what each of us considers a slice of heaven. I'm with the crowd that hates heat and dislikes desert colors. Heat is heat to me. I hate dry heat just as much as I hate humid heat. Until I started posting on this site and began participating in the Palm Springs Weekend I avoided Palm Springs like the plague. Once Oliver began wintering there and another good friend moved there, about ten years ago, I think I had only been in Palm Springs once or twice. With one or two exceptions the restaurant scene in Palm Springs is really poor. I don't play golf and I find sitting around a pool in 115 degree heat a real bore. I love blues and greens and cool climates. If weather ALONE was my only concern I would move to San Diego, California.
  10. GOOD GOD YES it is dead in the summer. Recently temperatures in Palm Springs reached 113. About the only things that really enjoy Palm Springs, in the heart of summer, are scorpions and rattlesnakes. I was just there to get together with a local escort and scout out the local gay resorts for my post here and it was 106. Even eating outside in the evening is uncomfortable.
  11. Each year the number of participants keeps increasing -- ain't that great! We are now at a point where none of the gay resorts would be large enough to house us all. TruthBTold is absolutely correct about the fact that these resorts are all very different and thus appeal to different guests. For example The Hacienda in Warm Springs and the Canyon Club are totally different. Price can also be a factor the Hacienda in Warm Springs is in the $350 a night range while the Canyon Club is in the $150 dollar range.
  12. OK two things to correct here. First Cuenca is not the capitol of Ecuador QUITO is. Second the law in Mexico not allowing foreigners to own land within 35 miles of the ocean is long gone. I know many Americans who own their homes and condos in Puerto Vallarta. I don't know about the 35 mile limit from an international border but I can't imagine anyone wanting to live anywhere near the US/Mexican border.
  13. I was born and raised in Southern California. It was a wonderful place to live in the 50's, the 60's and even the 70's. As far as I'm concerned I absolutely hate what it has become today It is now a land of too many people, too many cars, too little water, too little electricity and an infrastructure that is falling apart. It also has a state government that appears incapable of addressing these real problems. The state legislature, earlier this summer, passes an eleven cent per gallon gas tax increase to improve the state's infrastructure. Sounds great, however, the problem is that so many caveats where attached to the law, by legislatures with pet projects, that in the end very little of the money will go to improving infrastructure. As appealing as moving to Southern Mexico, Central America or South America might appear I am simply NOT willing to abandon my friends of a lifetime and my family. Another consideration is medical and dental care. In these areas medical care is frequently superior to dental care. If I were to move out of the country it would definitely be to Mexico. Although I like Puerto Vallarta the summers are terribly hot and humid. Guadalajara if nice but for me the most beautiful city in Mexico is definitely Morelia. I am not a big fan of Costa Rica. Over the last few years the San Jose suburbs have come to look just like suburban Southern California including both Costco and Walmart. Costa Ricans are wonderfully smug about the fact that they don't have a standing army, however, the federal police do have tanks and armored vehicles -- I don't really get the difference. I have not been in Uruguay or Argentina for years. Additionally Argentina and Uruguay and VERY LONG flights from the U.S.
  14. Santa Fe is great and the winters are not awful. The only problem is that it is terribly expensive to live there. About the only middle class consists of government employees -- it is the state capitol. There is a very large, wealthy snowbird population which has caused home prices to skyrocket. Taos on the other hand does have rather severe winters. It is much higher in altitude than Santa Fe and receives a lot more snow. The traffic is the area is also gawd awful. You might want to consider Albuquerque. Some of the suburbs are very nice and it is only about fifty plus miles south of Santa Fe. The winters are even milder than Santa Fe and the summers are not outrageously hot. Frankly if I weren't rapidly approaching 77 I would seriously consider moving from Southern California to Albuquerque. My problem is that all my friends and my family are in Southern California and as I age the most important consideration is that my doctors are all here.
  15. Hey Mo of course you are invited. Some stay Thursday through Sunday, some stay Friday through Monday and some even stay for a full week -- whatever floats your boat. All Oliver and his staff ask is that you cum prepared to have a great time.
  16. I agree totally with jrhoutex regarding Los Angeles area airports. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is on the west side of the city, in fact, it abuts the Pacific Ocean. If after arriving at LAX you rent a car and depart the airport after 2:30 p.m., for the drive east to Palm Springs, you will have to cross the entire city and traffic will be an absolute total "fucking bitch". You will also face heavy traffic if you arrive at John Wayne Airport (SNA) at the same time, however it won't be nearly as bad as LAX. Ontario Airport (ONT) is about an hour west of Palm Springs and is not a bad choice. You will be driving east while most traffic will be moving west. Palm Springs Airport (PSP) is, of course, the best choice although fares there can be quite high, however, if you keep checking sites like "kayak" you might get a good fare.
  17. Jrhoutex thanks much for the update on the Casa Ocotillo. I stayed there a couple of years ago and therefore didn't bother the check it out last week -- my bad. I have edited my list of recommendations and removed it .
  18. Latbear4blk last year a number of attendees stayed at the Canyon Club and greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of sitting around the pool shooting the shit with other forum participants. If I were staying at a Palm Springs gay resort, for our event, my personal choice might be INNdulge. I just returned, two day ago, from Palm Springs where I stayed at The Hacienda Warm Springs. The place is drop dead gorgeous and I greatly enjoyed my stay, however, it is very pricey.
  19. PALM SPRINGS GAY RESORTS 2018 Oliver has decided that the Palm Springs Weekend this year will be held on April 14th and 15th. That weekend will also be the first weekend of the Coachella Festival. Beyonce has already announced that she will be performing after having to cancel last year. Her appearance means that rooms in Palm Springs will be even more difficult to book as time passes. I highly recommend that if you are even remotely considering attending the Palm Springs Weekend you book a room as soon as possible. If later you decide that you will be unable to attend you can simply cancel your reservation. With this in mind I am providing the following list of gay resorts you might consider booking. I have divided the resorts into three price groups: 1.) Moderate, 2.) Moderately Expensive, and 3.) Expensive. I have recently visited ALL of the facilities listed below. They are all clothing optional, escort friendly and are all listed on tripadvisor. I have included each sites street address, web address and a few personal comments. Moderate Canyon Club www.canyonclubhotel.com 960 N Palm Canyon Drive Includes a coffee and Danish breakfast Escape www.escapepalmsprings.com 641 E. San Lorenzo Dr Includes a continental breakfast Triangle Inn Palm Springs http://www.triangle-inn.com/triangle-inn-palm-springs 555 E San Lorenzo Dr. Includes a continental breakfast Moderately Expensive INNdulge www.inndulge.com 601 S. Greenfall Rd. Includes a continental breakfast Vista Grande Resort www.vistagranderesort.com 574 Warm Springs Dr. Includes a continental breakfast Expensive Santiago Resort www.santiagoresort.com 650 E. San Lorenzo Rd. Includes a continental breakfast and a box lunch The Hacienda Warm Springs www.thehacienda.com 586 S Warm Springs Dr. Includes elaborate continental breakfast and a great number of choices for a cold lunch As I stated in the introductory paragraph I have visited ALL of these facilities and ALL of them are acceptable. Some offer more amenities and are more elaborately landscaped than others but they come at a price.
  20. Just keep in mind guys it is now and always has been different strokes for different folks.
  21. Frankly Oaktown who I hire and who I don't is no ones business but my own. I don't need to explain my hiring practices to you or anybody else for that matter.
  22. Jock123 isn't totally incorrect. The guy is obviously the new kid on the block. He may even get those rates, at least, until the newness wear off. There are definitely escorts collectors out there who are willing to pay top dollar for new (fresh) meat.
  23. I am aware that he has additional private photos. But I have always considered that practice a negative. I understand that for privacy sake an escort might not want to put up a face shot but I really don't get the point of hiding body shots in a private gallery. Frankly I consider having to ask the escort to unlock his private gallery an unnecessary bother thus I ignore the guy and move on.
  24. His ad photo is VERY promising, however, I would like to see a bit more of him before I hire. I wonder why just the one photo?
  25. It was almost a certainty that if his ad copy was valid the plaid shirt/face photo wouldn't be.
