  1. Like WilliamM I like my real and legal first name, Don. It is short and nowadays it is quite uncommon.
  2. Had a friend who owned a spectacular home just off Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills. The house and the view were wonderful. However, just going grocery shopping was a major ordeal. For a quart of milk you had to either go up over Laurel Canyon to the Valley or down Laurel Canyon into West Hollywood -- NOT FUN DRIVES!!!!!
  3. Listen latbear4blk if you're not coming I'm not making them PERIOD! There will likely be the usual: Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Dates Chinese Spareribs Sausage and Spinach-Stuffed Mushrooms Sloppy Joe's Smoky Chicken BBQ Kebabs Disgusting Deviled Eggs Chicken Wings As usual I will be looking at adding some new items; possible from the following list: Mini Reuben Cups Pork Satay Scallops Au Gratin Meatballs with Chimichurri Sauce Or any others than hit my fancy between now and The Weekend End. I am guessing that Oliver will supply his usual items.
  4. In a way I'm glad he appears to live permanentely in D.C. and not in Southern California. If he lived in my area I might be tempted to break my new rule about NOT hiring new guys. I have always been a "sucker" for pretty boys with nice gymnast type bodies.
  5. Very nice, however, Southern California if one hell of a long way from New York.
  6. I first started hiring seventeen years ago. I was like a kid in a candy story. I traveled all over the country hiring escorts in places like Tampa, New York, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco etc., etc., etc. Damn it was fun. HOWEVER, over the last few years I have found I am less and less interested in the guys plying the trade. I'm NOT into twinks, tons of tattoos and facial hair. Additionally many of the guys I most enjoyed have retired. I also frequently get the feeling that I've been there and done that and it is now time to move on. I'm seriously considering limiting my hiring to just one traveling guy of whom I'm very fond. If and when he hangs it up I guess I will as well. Oh well at 79 I guess age has caught up with me..
  7. Since I started this tread I will come up with a personal fact. My first name is Don not Donald. When my parents were deciding on a name for me my father wanted Donald. My mother absolutely refused and explained that she always associated Donald with Donald Duck and she didn't want to stick me with that. I absolutely hate the name Donny and anybody who uses it is quickly corrected. Now with that out of the way my last name is also a problem. It is not a terribly uncommon name but it has both an English and German spelling. The English version is by far the most common and starts with the letter "C" while the German version starts with the letter "K". Mine is of course is the German version. Thus when I give my last name to someone in a doctors office, government office or any other formal office situation I ALWAYS spell it first before pronouncing it.
  8. He isn't into anal, kissing, or oral -- how lovely!
  9. I had a get together with him, at his place, unusual for me, all set up but UNFORTUNATELY had to cancel because of a family members illness. He was incredibly nice and understanding about it. I will definitely be booking with him again, hopefully at my place.
  10. Thus far no response -- I've lost interest!!!!!
  11. Contacted him about getting together and he couldn't have been nicer. Unfortunately things didn't work out -- our schedules were the problem. His rates were quite reasonable. Be aware that he is extremely short which I, however, thought would be fun.
  12. Here is my update regarding contacting Alex. He has not yet responded to my text sent yesterday at 10 am PST. I will NOT follow up with another text. I have the feeling that if per chance all the stars are in alignment getting together with him is a possibility. In the end I'm not willing to continue the pursuit indefinitely. If and when he does respond I will post here again.
  13. Funguy I agree with your comment about clients simply disappearing when an escort quotes a fee the potential client feels is exorbitant. I always thank the escort for his time and explain that his fee is beyond my budget. At that point further communication between us usually ceases. However on a number of occasions the escorts has responded and asked me what I would be willing to pay. I do not usually respond to that question as I despise the very idea of bargaining with an escort over his fee. I certainly understand that there are guys here won't agree with me on this point but to each his own. Now, to be perfectly honest, there have been a very few occasions when, the escort rings all of my bell, I have responded by quoting what I am willing to offer. In every case the escort has replied positively and we have gotten together and had a great time. At my age I have come to believe that absolutely nothing is set in concrete.
  14. He's cute and I find something alluring about him. If he were visiting the L.A. area I might consider engaging him but what the hell is he doing visiting Bakersfield. Bakersfield is the end of the fucking earth.

The deal breaker for me is that he doesn't list kissing as something he is into. However, he does look great.
  16. Just send him a text to renew my interest in getting together when he visits the West Coast. Hopefully I will receive a positive response. Will keep you all informed.
  17. Hey Jeffster you obviously haven't spent much time in Utah or talking to good Mormon boys. My mother's family was from Utah and I used to spend a considerable amount of time there. For some reason, don't ask me why, Mormon men learn, from childhood, to speak as Alex does - tone, pitch, and cadence . They are also taught to play a musical instrument, usually the piano. Alex plays the piano. Everything about him, except his gayness and his porn career reeks of his Utah background.
  18. Marylander1940 thanks for the link. Interesting how few big earners there actually are.
  19. Unicorn nobody worth anything is laughing at you. You went into a relationship that you thought and hopped might be a lasting one and unfortunately it has turned out not to be. Take credit for the time and effort you put into trying to make it work. You made the effort, that he failed to do do isn't your fault. Certainly you are disappointed and angry that it didn't work out - that's only natural and human. The ALL important thing is that you are NOT blaming yourself for the failure and you are moving on. CONGRATULATIONS you've handled this situation as well as anybody possibly could.
  20. Several years ago I had a regular who was an actor and had had a number of roles in the daytime soaps. He didn't want to be seen in public with older men thus he would drive out to my place and I cooked dinner for us. He lived in the Hollywood hills. On one occasion I happened to be in that part of town to go to the movies. There was a very nice gym next to the theater. As I parked my car in the underground parking lot who should get out of the car next to me but my regular. He was dressed for the gym. We were both quite surprised but since we were alone we smiled and he said see you soon. He retired from escorting several years ago and damn do I miss him. He was the most FUN guy with whom I ever had sex - he absolutely reveled in man to man sex.
  21. David1024 makes an excellent point. The only problem in living in Southern Orange County or Northern San Diego county is the distance one has to drive to major cultural and sports centers. The one exception is the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. There are no decent Art Museums in these areas and the only baseball stadium is in Anaheim. Additionally the traffic problems in attempting to access downtown San Diego, central Orange County or downtown L.A. along the 5 and 405 freeways are horrific. Even with all of these problems these are great areas in which to live. Do, however, keep in mind that many of these towns a full of USC graduates who are VERY politically conservative.
  22. Given my choice I ALWAYS hire an escort to come to my place for lunch or dinner (his choice) after which we spend a couple of hours playing. By the time the meal is over the ice is broken and we head directly to the bedroom. Unfortunately I don't have a clue how I would go about moving thing along if we were to be together for just one hour. Interesting thread!!!!!
  23. "Nimby" stands for Not In My By Backyard and is a common term that has been used in California for decades. It refers to people opposed to additional development where they live because they don't want their bit of paradise ruined by more development and more residents.
  24. My question was placed here in the Lounge because I wasn't asking it as it might apply to an escort but rather as how it applied to a male model. I was wondering, just out of curiosity, what the life expectancy is for a young, beautiful male model and how he made out financially.
  25. Definitely better than living in Santa Monica or Malibu!!!!!. Santa Monica is a zoo traffic wise and has a MAJOR homeless problem. The park overlooking the ocean has become a major hang out for the homeless, with drug problems, who hassle tourists and locals alike. Housing restrictions are over the top and even the simplest remodeling job becomes a major endurance effort. Malibu is way out of the way if one wants to take advantage of the cultural/sports/arts opportunities available in Los Angeles. It is a major trek, on very congested freeways, to reach downtown L.A. The city government seems to enjoy putting road blocks in front of anybody wanting to remodel. If one has a house on the beach he/she must also contend with the California Coastal Commission which can be and usually is a challenge to say the least. Neither Santa Monica or Malibu have the sense of community that exists in the three beach communities. Malibu in particular is a community housing large numbers of very rich nimby's If I were moving to the west side of L.A. it would be Manhattan, Redondo, Hermosa Beaches. It might also consider Culver City which over the last few years has gone through a major gentrification.
