  6. Dear Abby: I am a 27-year-old married man with two kids. They are 4 and 1 years old. I love my little family, and there has been a lot of “newness” to my life over the past few years. My issue is that I’m starting to feel like I’m losing my identity. I no longer go out with friends because I feel guilty leaving my wife home alone with the kids. I also work a lot, so many nights I come home late and just crash. I have thought about taking a weekend trip alone to sort of reconnect with myself and get some things done, but would that be selfish? — Identity Loss Dear Identity Loss: It wouldn’t be selfish if you gave your wife the opportunity to take a similar sanity break when she feels the need. Or better yet, find a trusted baby sitter and the two of you go together. YES!
  7. This week's GRAHAM NORTON SHOW is a compilation of stories his guests have told. Patrick Stewart talked about a conversation he had with his wife early in his marriage... whatever they were discussing, he started to say "Being circumcised..." and she said "You're not circumcised." He replied that his mother had told him it was done because it was the fashionable thing to do when he was born... "I am circumcised... end of argument!" Well, the next day he had to see the doctor for his physical, so... The doctor responded "Not!" "Are you sure?" "Patrick, I'm Jewish... I know the difference." Hugh Jackman was the other guest on the couch and he was ever so amused at the story!
  8. DEAR ABBY: I’m in 6th grade. My best friend hates a girl in our class. She toilet-papered her house, posted mean signs, threw eggs onto the family’s car and dumped shampoo in their mailbox. I’m really uncomfortable with what she did. She’s nice to me, though. What do I do? — FRIEND ISSUE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DEAR FRIEND ISSUE: Although your friend may dislike the classmate, she did not have the right to damage the family’s property. What she has been doing is called vandalism, and it is against the law. That it makes you uncomfortable shows you have a conscience. If you are smart – and I think you are – spend less time with her. I say this because a person like her could easily turn on you. Ask your best friend where they're registered, and hope the she picks you to be her maid of honor... DEAR ABBY: My husband, “Joe,” and I have been married 45 years, and he drives me nuts! I have asked him countless times to use better table manners, speak proper English and treat others with respect. I’m not asking for perfection. I know I’m not perfect, but if someone pointed out something I was doing incorrectly or that embarrassed someone, I’d change what I was doing. Besides asking nicely, which I always do as to not belittle Joe, what can I do? It’s hard to ignore! —NOTHING CHANGES IN NEW YORK DEAR NOTHING: After 45 years you should have come to the realization that you cannot change another person. For the sake of your sanity, learn to change the way you react to your husband’s poor table manners and bad English. Because he’s a sloppy eater, consider eating with him less often. Because his grammar isn’t up to par, try to remember that you married him this way and he managed to get the words “I do” out well enough to satisfy the officiant. As to his disrespect for other people, the next time it happens, don’t ask him to cut it out, TELL him! DEAR ABBY: My wife is cold, judgmental prig who still won't accept and love me for the person I am, even after 45 years of marriage...

  10. I appreciated the homage to ELLEN's famous "puppy episode", in which Ellen announced to Laura Dern (and an airport full of strangers) that she was gay, by saying it into a microphone at a ticket counter, much as Karen announced she was straight.
  11. I can't agree with you. Ever since its return, I've felt the show was on the quality level of seasons 7 & 8 (not great). I do agree that this year was better than last year, but that's like saying Bush was better than Trump... only in comparison. I loathe Estefan... he is a minthing, lithping, thtereotype and they did nothing all season to suggest why this lightweight airhead would be the one to finally make Jack grow up & settle down. Karen's fling with her gf (whose name I've already forgotten) was ridiculous... when the character was first introduced (when Karen was trapped in the office by a blizzard) I thought she was just going to be a con artist trapped with Karen by the snow. Who knew the storyline would be developed into something so cartoonish (much like Bomer's character was a cartoon/caricature)? I did enjoy Grace's arc during the year... Schwimmer was more enjoyable than I thought he'd be. The finale left me wondering in how many countries Grace's body parts would be found when the fall premiere picks up months later.
  12. Some MVP candidates take out ads in local newspapers. Other MVP candidates appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will appear on a regional cover of the popular weekly magazine for the April 8 edition, part of a cover story by Chris Ballard called “How to Coach a Unicorn.” The image shows Giannis soaring over members of the San Antonio Spurs. Unlocking Giannis Antetokounmpo: How the Bucks Turned the Greek Freak into the MVP https://www.si.com/nba/2019/04/03/giannis-antetokounmpo-milwaukee-bucks-mike-budenholzer-mvp-playoffs In person, Giannis is earnest, thoughtful and intense. Teammates and coaches use words like perfectionist and self-critical, citing penitent midnight shooting sessions. The phrase work ethic comes up repeatedly, modified by “unreal” and “insane.” Says (coach Mike) Budenholzer, “He craves ways to get better, craves information, he seeks out Hakeem Olajuwon, Kobe. He really believes in making those steps. He wants to be the best f------ player in the league and the world...”
  13. The classics are Belly Bombers and Spit On A Bun. Their clam strips ain't bad.
  14. I probably still have the 45 somewhere. I liked it much better than their other hit:
  15. Because you can add up to 4 pics per post; 2 of the diner were sufficient, so why not add a little eye candy to whet the appetite?
