Decomposing body found in freezer of South Carolina 'haunted house' — that then mysteriously burns down South Carolina authorities are investigating after a supposedly haunted house in Norway where a dead body was found decomposing was set ablaze. Jeez, that seems inappropriate... Do Norwegian authorities investigate fires in South Carolina? According to Crime-Online, a group of explorers ventured into the haunted house where they made the grisly discovery of a dead body. An 18-year-old in the group noticed a putrid smell and opened a freezer to find a decomposing body still partially dressed in jeans and socks. The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death after the explorers made contact with them sometime after the macabre find. However, the dead body in the haunted house wasn’t the only unsettling part of the story. Two days after the discovery, local firefighters responded to a fire at the scene of the abandoned abode. Police have said the blaze is considered suspicious, but it wasn’t clear if they have identified any suspects. According to WNCN in Raleigh-Durham, the home was burnt down in the early Tuesday fire. Police have not said why they consider the fire at the haunted house with the dead body suspicious. Authorities have said they are likewise currently unable to identify the decomposing corpse found in the freezer. Medical officials have said the decomposition was so bad, they are currently not able to determine a cause of death or identity. They are even unable to determine the sex of the corpse, WSOC in Charlotte reported. The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office says the group of eight adults were out riding four-wheelers on Sunday when they decided to explore the property in Norway. Officials have previously said the owner of the haunted house was cooperating with the dead body investigation. According to WLTX, the previous tenant, Ron Phillips, said the freezer where the body was found belonged to his family — but he hasn’t been there in over a year. “My daughter grew up out there and it really has affected her to know that somebody would come out there and do such a thing as dispose a body in the old freezer on the back porch,” Phillips said. “It’s just a terrible thing.” The cause of the fire remains “undetermined” and police are investigating both the body and the potential arson. When asked about the rumors of his old home being “haunted”, Phillips said, “Well there was some voices in the house, it’s been like that for years.”

Meghan McCain & Joy Behar threw down on live TV today.

I didn't think it was so bad; it seemed like Meghan tried to reign it in when she was in danger of venturing too far. The final segment about Sunny's in-laws was moving. -

I often like Swoosie, but she seems to be playing ever-more over-the-top characters as she ages. As for Leslie Jordan, I loved him on Will & Grace, and find him more and more annoying as he gets more and more exposure playing derivatives of the same character over and over. I enjoying looking at Bomer, and he made a good contribution to the classic series CHUCK, and was enjoyable on WHITE COLLAR, but let's face it, as an actor, he's a very pretty face. And I've never watched an episode of anything Bialik has ever done, other than her 3 appearances on LARROQUETTE as the star's daughter.

I was supposed to have a towel delivered today, but the driver obviously took it to the wrong building. First of all, my account says it was handed directly to a receptionist or someone at a front desk. My building has neither, and no doorman. Secondly, I got down there within 15 minutes of when it says it was delivered and there were 4 other packages in 2 places in the lobby– so did a thief come in and magically discern that my package was the only one worth stealing? Anyhoo… it took 3 calls to get things resolved. I’ll get a credit for the one that didn’t show up. I mentioned to the last 2 reps that I had ordered one that had been returned unopened, which sold at a lower price. If I had to order a new one to replace it and pay full price, I’d have wound up having to pay $10ish extra. The second rep I had spoken to had issued me a $15 bonus to make up for the difference and to apologize for my ordeal. I wound up a $5.74 credit balance. So NOW what do I buy with my balance? I can use Prime thru (and including) Friday. I’m exhausted!

I tried... didn't find any single bars for sale (or maybe I did, but it wasn't the same value as the bigger Kit Kat-- I don't remember) My first choice was a chunky bar... I love those, and haven't had one in ages, but they definitely had no singles of that for sale.

Why did I think this would be a thread about Julian Assange? I guess I should've realized it would've been in the Politics section in that case.

The U.S. has about 9 times the population and 22 times the number of deaths, although to be fair, part of that is because we have more densely populated areas and the virus hit first in 2 of the most-densely-populated ones in NY & NJ-- before much was known about how to fight it. And also, we have many more nursing home residents than Canada, and that's been the group with (by far) the highest percentage of deaths.

Impossible Foods is chopping its wholesale prices for the second time in less than a year as demand for its fake meat soars, the company said. The latest cut will slice 15 percent off the cost of the Redwood City, California, company’s plant-based patties and sausages — a reduction the company is asking distributors to pass along to supermarkets and restaurants that sell its products. Impossible Foods, which burst onto the food scene with patties that taste and even “bleed” like real meat, has made it its mission to displace sales of regular beef. But Impossible Foods’ burger patties are still about a buck more than regular chopped beef, which sells for about $2 per pound. The latest cuts, which follow a 15 percent price reduction in March, makes Impossible Foods’ meat less expensive — at about $6.80 per pound — than the $9 per pound for premium grass-fed, organic beef for the first time, company spokeswoman, Rachel Konrad told The Post. “We experienced skyrocketing growth in 2020, which allowed us to go into high production and to cut our per unit costs,” Konrad said. The new prices will be in effect everywhere in the US and in Canada and Asia by the end of this month. Demand for plant-based meats have increased dramatically during the pandemic, in part, because of meat shortages, but also because consumers became more health conscious and saw plant-based foods as a more healthy choice, experts said. Impossible Foods’ publicly held rival, Beyond Meat, notched a 69 percent sales increase in the second quarter to $113 million. A year ago, Impossible Foods was available for purchase in 150 grocery stores and today is sold in 17,000 supermarkets, including Walmart, Target, Kroger. In December Costco began a pilot in 45 stores in California, Konrad said. The privately held company’s products are also sold in national restaurants like Burger King, which introduced the Impossible Whopper in 2019, boosting customer traffic by nearly 20 percent in the first restaurants to offer it in St. Louis. “Our stated goal since Impossible Foods’ founding has always been to drive down prices through economies of scale, reach price parity and then undercut the price of conventional ground beef from cows,” the company’s chief executive and founder, Patrick Brown said in a statement.
