  1. The title of this thread made me think of The Golden Girls (of course) when Dorothy was going to re-marry Stan and Blanche interviewed Grace Adler's mother Debbie Reynolds to be a new roomate: Truby: Oh, my husband passed. Rose: Passed what? Dorothy: A slow-moving Winnebago, Rose!
  2. Freddy, the world’s tallest dog, dies at age 8 Freddy, the beloved Great Dane who held the record as the world’s tallest dog, has died at the age of 8, Guinness World Records announced. The gentle giant — who towered at almost 7 feet, 6 inches standing on his hind legs — became an international sensation when his record was announced in 2016. When measured by a vet and GWR from foot to withers, the highest point on his shoulder blades, he measured 3 feet, 4 inches – giving him the official record. “He was not just the tallest dog but the dog with the most love and the biggest heart. A total soppy bugger who was hand-fed,” Freddy’s devastated owner Claire Stoneman said. “He was my life. My reason. My joy. My annoyance. My happiness and my ultimate sadness. He was my heart Dane. My one in a million and loved by the entire world,” the resident of Essex, UK, added. “As a puppy, he was the runt of the litter. I actually got him a couple of weeks earlier than I should have, as he wasn’t feeding off [his] mum,” she told GWR. “I had no idea he was going to get this big at all.” GWR Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday also remembered the beloved pooch. “Measuring this mountain of a dog was an unforgettable — if challenging! — experience and I’ll always treasure the couple of occasions I got to share a sofa with him — there was just about enough room for the two of us!” he said. “I still can barely believe that he was the runt of the litter. Freddy brought a smile to everyone’s face and will be missed by every at Guinness World Records. I’m just pleased that we got the chance to celebrate his record-breaking immensity in the books and share his story with millions of people around the world,” Glenday said. “RIP, Freddy,” he added. 4. Don’t mess with his happy meal. A New Mexico man was caught on video pointing a gun at a McDonald’s employee for getting his order wrong. Estevan Gonzalez pulled up at a McDonald’s drive-thru window in Albuquerque on Jan. 7 to complain that his burger didn’t have cheese, KRQE reported. Gonzalez left and came back to the drive-thru — still unsatisfied — about 10 minutes later. The 25-year-old man then can be seen on surveillance footage arguing with an employee before whipping out a gun and pointing it at the employee. The employee then calls the police, which sent a chopper to the restaurant where it recorded Gonzalez at the window. The unhappy customer then drives away as he was being chased by the chopper. Cops eventually caught up to him at a nearby neighborhood and arrested him, according to KRQE. Gonzalez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and was released from jail as he awaits trial.
  5. No doubt this pic was inspired by Sue Ann's introductory episode on MTM... The Lars Affair, in which Sue Ann has an affair with Phyllis' hubby. It was MTM's mother's favorite episode & mine, as well. Season 4 Episode 1, in its entirety:

  7. Since college, I've never been able to call her by her correct name. A friend told me that she'd seen C.L. on a talk show talking about how people always messed up her name-- such as calling her Clorox Bleachman. I thought that was hilarious. So for 40 years now, that's who she's been to me. AND SHE HAD THE BEST OPENING THEME EVER:

  9. Christina Anstead changes her name on Instagram amid split from husband Ant Hello, Christina Haack! Christina Anstead has changed her name on Instagram amid her divorce from Ant Anstead. The HGTV star, who split from husband Ant last September, reverted to her maiden name, Haack, in her Instagram bio. However, her handle is still@christinaanstead. Before her marriage to Anstead in December 2018, Christina was known as Christina El Moussa, the last name she shared with her previous husband, Tarek El Moussa. Christina and Tarek share two kids together, 5-year-old son Brayden and 10-year-old daughter Taylor, while she's also mom to 1-year-old son Hudson with Ant. While Christina seems to be moving on from her split from Ant, the Wheeler Dealers host has been open about his struggle to heal from the breakup. In a December interview with People, Ant said it wasn't his decision to end their marriage. "It really hit me hard," he said of the split. "If you ask anybody that knows me properly, they know that I give myself fully. I had so much love for her." Despite that, Ant said he's on the road to healing, especially following his participation in a five-week program that taught him how to "grieve your relationship so you can let it go" and "regain your identity." He lost more than 20 pounds as a result of the program. BASTARD! "The thing about healing is sometimes you feel like you’re making daily progress, and then, from nowhere, your legs get taken out, and you feel like you start again," he said. "But I'm certainly making steps towards healing, even if it's really slow."

You young'ns have no sense of pop culture history https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/sheena-queen-of-the-jungle-has-died-for-sure-we-think.162254/ Not the original cast... saw it in London in 1977 where it was not a hit and closed after a short run. (In 1990 I saw the unbelievably overrated Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap and legendary actress Jerry Hall--mother of 4 of Mick Jagger's kids-- in a revival of Bus Stop [with legendary actor Shaun Cassidy], so I've had some disappointing theater experiences across the pond.) I suppose now you're gonna ask who Shaun Cassidy is.:eek:
  17. I found a new roommate for you: He’s not just a ‘thirst trap’: Meet NYC’s hottest roommate Is it hot in this apartment, or is it just the new roommate? Last Monday, as part of his search for a room to rent in Brooklyn or downtown Manhattan, Saverio Pescucci took to the 284,800-member Gypsy Housing group on Facebook — and included a handful of photos of himself to put a face to the ad. The Tuscany, Italy, native’s post quickly went viral, netting some 600 likes and more than 400 comments, most having nothing to do with his house hunt. “I saw a lot of people … were posting pictures of themselves, like selfies and casual photos, to show that they’re not sociopaths or what kind of lifestyle they have,” Pescucci, 29, told The Post. “I did the same [but] I was not imagining that it would turn into an episode of ‘The Bachelor.’ “ Among the Italian stallion’s five photos was one of him holding up his toned arms in excitement while on vacation in Arizona, and another that shows Pescucci — who studied at Milan’s prestigious La Scala ballet academy — shirtless in an aerial dance move. “I think the ballet picture did it,” admitted the dancer, who described himself in his listing as “super chill, friendly, gay [and] Covid responsible.” “[The] hot ones are never straight,” said one woman, while another chimed in to say, “You’re cute … that’s all I have to offer you. A compliment.” Comments from men included, “You won’t be paying rent for too long once you get here … [you’re] f–king hot,” and “I don’t have a room, but I have space in my heart.” Pescucci, who has lived in New York City for six years, told The Post that the ad “wasn’t a thirst trap.” “I was not uncomfortable [with the comments], I just was really overwhelmed,” he continued. “It was like, like, like, comment, comment, DM, DM. It was just a lot.” He eventually replied to the wave of adoration. “Omg, just waking up and what is happening on this post!?!?? I just wanted a room!!!!” he wrote, later adding, “Thank you for all the sweet and kind words and help finding a room! I’ll read all the comments as … soon as I get a chance!” Pescucci eventually found a place in a Williamsburg three bedroom, though not from his viral post. One of the commenters was 26-year-old Hassan Salazar, a drag performer who lives in Queens. Among the first to voice his lust, he said, “I don’t have a room but I am single,” later adding, “I’m just here to snatch myself a good man. He can have my apartment lol.” “I like that he was a dancer and I liked his eyebrows,” Salazar told The Post. “I’m going to consider my marriage proposal as pending.” Although Pescucci declined to reveal his relationship status, he didn’t rule out the idea of going on a date with a new fan: “Life is unpredictable and you never know. Maybe my future husband will be one of the commenters on this post.” No matter what, Pescucci — who was put out of work as a Broadway and ballet dancer by the pandemic, but will soon start a job at an Italian food distributor — has a new place to show off. He snagged a room in a three-bedroom Williamsburg apartment. “The funny thing is that I didn’t find it from the post!” he said, adding he found it through another Gypsy Housing ad. When the time comes to hunt for his next apartment, Pescucci said he’ll still use photos of himself. “Maybe just one or two and keep it a little more simple,” he said. “Or maybe not, if I’m not that desperate to find a room.”
  18. A Mexican woman flew into a rage and stabbed her husband when she found what she thought were snaps of him on his phone having sex with another woman — who happened to be her when they were dating years ago. Police responded last week to reports of a domestic dispute at the couple’s home in Cajeme, Sonora, where they discovered the man with multiple stab wounds on his arms and legs, the Daily Mail reported. His wife, identified as Leonora A, reportedly went ballistic when she found the explicit photos on his phone showing him having sex with who she thought was another woman. Without asking him about the photos, Leonora allegedly began attacking her shocked hubby, identified as Juan N., who finally managed to wrestle the knife from her hands and asked her what set her off, the outlet reported. Juan then told Leonora that the woman she thought he had been cheating with was actually her — when they were just dating. His wife apparently did not recognize herself because she was younger, thinner and had makeup on, according to the report. Juan, who is expected to recover from the injures, told investigators that he told his jealous wife that he had recently found the photos in an old email and transferred them to his phone. Leonora was arrested and remains behind bars pending charges, the Daily Mail reported.
  19. Totally forgot season one was on BRAVO. Season 2 was on USA and aired over the summer. I'm finally watching it now (and just started the last episode, but am taking a break). It tells the story of Betty Broderick, with Amanda Peet tremendous in the role, and Christian Slater appropriately slimy as her ex-husband Dan.
