I thought of another one... A number of years ago I went for a dental cleaning right before one of the holidays. Much of the staff must have been off already because when the hygienist came in she said "Hi, I'm Dr. @@@'s mother." He had called her out of retirement to fill in. While she was looking over my chart she said "You've had a lot of work done." I replied "Yes, I'm putting your grandchildren through college."

I've been seeing his name a lot recently because he's supposed to be heading an EQUALIZER spin-off. He was in a CBS series called BROOKLYN SOUTH in 1997-98 that got a big promo push from the network and I remember an article that said he had an absurdly low body fat percentage (don't recall the exact number) so he will forever be known to me as TightAss Welliver.

“Dazed and Confused” Star Nicky Katt Dies at 54
samhexum replied to samhexum's topic in Comedy & Tragedy
*UPDATE* Katt’s sister Elise Ravenscroft revealed to Deadline Monday that the actor died by suicide. “He died by suicide after battling with depression — one that he fought bravely but quietly,” she said. “This is a pain no family should endure, yet far too many do. Mental illness is real, it is powerful and it is often invisible. We hope that by sharing this, we can help break the silence and stigma that so often surrounds mental health struggles.” -

Catching Up with the Legendary Tom Chase as He Talks the Golden Age of Porn, Embracing His Bottom Side & More December 1, 2021 In the 1990s, there was a smooth and clean-cut boy with dreamy brown eyes, a flawlessly chiseled physique, and yes, an 11-inch endowment that made him the first lifetime exclusive for Falcon Studios. In the 2000s, he reemerged at Colt Studios as a hairy and horny man’s man who loved to take it as much as give it. We speak, of course, of the legendary Tom Chase. Lots of the guys from this golden age of gay porn were hot, but Tom brought something else to the table (and elsewhere). Probably more than any other star of his day, Tom could combine being totally masc and aggressive with actually being tender and loving at the same time. It made for a viewing experience like no other in porn and his award-winning scenes all still hold up today. We are pleased to share that Tom Chase is doing just great and is more content than ever. He’s also still hot as fuck! Tom joined us for a revealing interview about how he’s been since leaving the industry, some memories of his career, and his plans for the future. How has your life been since leaving the industry? What have you been doing for the last ten years? TC: I left the industry in 2010, after making “The Big One” for Butch Bear Studio (now defunct), and I immediately started working on my emotional and psychological self, all of the work I had to put aside during my 20s and 30s in order to make quality porn. In 2010, I began the difficult work of confronting my anger, rage, disillusionment, resentment, and hatred. I let all of these negative emotions go, and I started to love myself for the first time. I cut ties with my toxic family and my toxic self (my old thinking, my old behavior). I cut ties with toxic friends and toxic clients. I grieved the losses (I cried every day for five years), and then I moved on with my life. For all of this uncomfortable work, I am happy and free. I am satisfied and fulfilled in life. And I am now capable of loving and receiving love, which I do in spades all day long. I am living my best life now, and I am proud of myself for doing so. How do you look back on your time in the industry? TC: I look back at my experience with great fondness and appreciation. I am proud of my work and the contributions I have made to the industry. I am enjoying being Tom Chase. The ’90s and early 2000s, (when you were one of the biggest stars of the industry!) are widely thought of as The Golden Age of Gay Porn. Do you agree and what do you think made that period so special? TC: I do agree, because of the timing and convergence of two things: the advances in video technology and the athletic quality of the models. By the 1990s, both had reached their zeniths. The combination was art. Any fellow stars of that time you consider favorites? Wish you had worked with? Still in touch with? TC: My favorite co-star is Mike Branson, hands down. Our chemistry was real, and it was passionate. We liked each other a lot, and we respected each other. We had a good brotherhood. Unfortunately, we are not in touch. After we both completed our contracts, we went our separate ways in life. I do stay in touch with most of my co-stars from my day. We are a family. What do you think was your best scene and why? TC: My best scene was with Matthew Anders in High Tide. We were not fond of each other from the start, and our scene was a tender, love-making scene. Our initial lack of interest in each other concerned me. On the day of the shoot, however, we both rose to the occasion and delivered our professional best. High Tide turned out to be my masterpiece. In addition to being my best scene, it is my favorite scene. It is the only scene I made for Falcon which truly represents me in bed. You have said it was a deliberate decision of yours to show on screen your progression from boy to man. How and why did you do that? TC: Yes, this is true. I felt the world needed to see a true depiction of the sexual and physical maturation of a gay man. Initially, as most gay men, I topped. As I matured and discovered my hole, I started bottoming. This is a typical course for a gay man over his lifetime, and I wanted to show that natural progression. Basically, I produced a documentary of Tom Chase growing up in the bedroom, and I used three porn studios to produce that documentary: Falcon, Colt, and Butch Bear Studios. If I ever have the opportunity, I’d like to continue the documentary into my senior years. Do you follow the industry as it is today? Any stars today impress you? TC: I follow it from a distance. I enjoy watching Austin Wolf and Tim Kruger. Sometimes, I wish I was John Thomas or Henrik Sommer. Would you consider a comeback? TC: Yes, under two conditions: the scene be bareback only, and I am the bottom. https://www.cybersocket.com/news-gossip/catching-up-with-the-legendary-tom-chase-as-he-talks-the-golden-age-of-porn-embracing-his-bottom-side-more/

https://www.aol.com/lifestyle/dazed-confused-star-nicky-katt-223259634.html Nicky Katt, the star of '90s indie movies including Dazed and Confused, has died, according to multiple reports. He was 54. Katt's death was confirmed to Deadline and The Wrap by John Sloss, founder and partner of Sloss Law, the firm that provided the actor’s legal representation. His cause of death was not immediately available. PEOPLE reached out to Sloss for comment and further information on Saturday, April 12. Born on May 11, 1970, in South Dakota, Katt was a prolific character actor who frequently appeared in projects for director Richard Linklater, including his most well-known role in 1993's Dazed and Confused. He also appeared in several Steven Soderbergh films, including the 2002 comedy Full Frontal (alongside Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt) and in the 2013 Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra. In Full Frontal, Katt played the darkly humorous role of an actor portraying Adolf Hitler in a fictional play called The Sound and the Fuhrer. Soderbergh told the Los Angeles Times in 2002 that he was "absolutely fearless" as an actor. At the time, Katt also told the outlet that the role gave him an opportunity to step back and look at acting from an outside perspective. "There's so much desperation in the air, in Los Angeles especially. You don’t notice it in New York as much," he said. "Everybody plays it a little cooler there, and people have a lot more interaction with each other. I think Stanley Kubrick called the vibe in L.A. a 'low-level malevolence.' It eats away at you at some point." In Dazed and Confused, Katt starred as high school bully and wannabe greaser Clint Bruno, who picks a fight with Adam Goldberg's character Mike Newhouse. Katt had many other memorable roles over the years. He was featured in 1999's The Limey and in Christopher Nolan’s 2002 remake of Insomnia. He also played one of the villainous roles in A Time to Kill alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Matthew McConaughey. On the small screen, the actor starred in the Fox drama series Boston Public for the show’s first three seasons. His character, Harry Senate, was a geology teacher who eventually won the heart of his difficult students. According to IMDb, Katt's final acting role came in 2018 when he appeared in an episode of the Hulu comedy series Casual.

Michael Angarano and Michael Cera have been on screen for most of their lives. Both former child actors, each grew into an adult in front of audiences during the aughts — for Angarano, as Sean Hayes’ son in “Will and Grace” or the nepo-superhero of Disney’s teen actioner “Sky High”; for Cera, in the meaner streak comedies of “Arrested Development” and “Superbad.” But that particularly intense spotlight — being the on-screen representation for a millennial generation then coming into consciousness — is less of a burden in their mid-thirties. “Almost 20 years ago, I would get really anxious walking by a high school because the kids would know who I was and they create a frenzy of energy that you’re not able to withstand. But now I feel very comfortable walking by a high school, because I know they have no idea who I am,” Cera says with a laugh. Both of you became fathers in the years since the film was announced. It’s an intriguing real-life parallel to the concerns of the story. Cera, your character is fraught with anxiety over the incoming responsibilties of parenting. Is that something you were conscious of as the project gained steam? CERA: It made everything that the character was struggling with more immediately. I can’t imagine the movie having shaped up any other way, because all of that really did become the essence of it. Even though it didn’t start out that way, it evolved into this story about that major, irreversible life transition. It was hugely informative. ANGARANO: I’m not consciously aware of exactly how it impacted me, but I’m positive it did. I just can’t tell you in what exact way. Everything went from being a hypothetical to very, very literal. I would be interested to see the movie if we made it five years ago, before having kids. “Sacramento” is now in theaters from Vertical Entertainment.

Who said they were kosher for Pesach? They've been in my pantry for months. My parents forced me to go to yeshiva until Dec 4th of 5th grade (when I transferred to a school where the yard had been hung out in at one point by a couple of kids named Paul & Julio) and since I was paroled I have never even looked for a kosher symbol. In fact, the three years I went to college in Syracuse I made it a point to eat at the on-campus Burger King every year on Yom Kipper because I had so enjoyed the yeshiva culture.

We’ll always have Paris April 9. Mark down the date. It’s one for the Weird and Wild history books. But you’ll need your passport. Want to guess why? Because it was the first day in baseball history that Paris (Kyren) and France (Ty) hit home runs on the same day. Viva le coup de circuit!

When I was a young'n we had a set of passover dishes and cutlery. That tomfoolery ended when my mother decided it wasn't worth getting on a step stool twice in a week to get them out of then back into the top cabinets. They eventually got mixed in with the regular dishes. Enjoy your Seder. I am planning on making a pot roast and some chicken soup as soon as I open up some room in my freezer. I always portion out my pot roast and freeze it all as soon as it cools down so that I don't pick at it all night and eat half of it. I use wonton soup pint containers to make sure I make small portions... I have enough veggies in there that I average a bit less than three ounces of meat per serving and I have no idea why I am telling you all this. But, again, enjoy the Seder!
