That would be freaky, borderline stalking.
I have a regular who texts when he's near me and offers me a deal if I agree to meet him "right away," but that's the closest. If he came to the door, I'd say he was trying to intimidate me into hiring him.

No, it's always been like that. Some escorts schedule, others like "right away." Same for clients. You found your preference.

Like stated earlier, I'd send a deposit to a well known escort (like Jarrod) who has a lot of RM reviews.
However, last nite, I turned down a deposit request from an RM ad that had only a single review.
Now, I fully understood why they asked for it - it turned out they were further away from me than expected.
However, if they're new and have only one review, I'm not sending a deposit. I simply acknowledged that they were too far away and wished them good luck. I'm not unhappy with them, but it was simply an unlucky situation for them.
