  1. Still writing checks, but nearly not as many. Pay credit card bills online, but still have paper statements because, for whatever reason, I notice discrepancies on paper easier than looking online. Charities get checks, except for the one-offs (natural disasters, friends running, or walking for something, etc.), tradesmen, and I like to be flexible with paying my monthly association fee by check (may pay a few months ahead). Have paid for cars with checks for more than a decade except for recently. Loan rate was very low, and I think my savings rate will surpass the loan rate shortly, but the payment is deducted from my savings account, so no check.
  2. Never experienced road head or handy. (Oh, and nice car)
  3. Seeing his ad, it reminded me of this guy. Could they be related? https://rentmasseur.com/TheGingerJock
  4. I think it's to make fun of all the fathers who are obsessed with the thermoset setting, or more likely, obsessed with making sure the others the house don't touch it. My father used to put tape over it so we couldn't change the temp. Hope all the fathers here had a great day yesterday.
  5. Hmmm. That doesn't sound like a bad price, especially to get Showtime. Don't know for sure, but it sounds like it might be less than if I were to add Showtime on top of my condo package.
  6. The DoNotCall list has not kept up technology. I was surprised when I started getting voicemail messages (a recorded robotic voice) that went straight to voicemail on my cell phone. Phone never rang, and call (or number) never appeared on my call logs. It's a new tech referred to as a voicemail drop, or something like that. The message said they were a debt collector. Of course, I never called them back, and after about a month of those, they finally stopped.
  7. That's a lot of money. I have Comcast HD expanded basic as part of our association fee for a little less than $40 a month. Have no choice, it's a bulk rate for all the condos in our building. I recently got Netflix online, that is now $10.99 a month, and am trying out Hulu when they gave me a $5.99 a month rate, but it includes commercials. I'll be honest, I don't live for TV. Sometimes would rather just sit and read a book.
  8. Been my understanding, the Marine Corp is part of the Department of the Navy.
  9. Killian once PM'd me after a post I made. He was kind and supportive. Wish you well @Killian
  10. Best wishes @MartyB
  11. My parents were from "the old country", northern Europe. My mother told me it was customary for funerals to be many days later, perhaps as long as a week, to assemble people. As a kid, I remember a friend of my mother's talking about when she was a child, and it was the custom (in her neighborhood the US) to have the deceased lie in state at their home. She was telling the story that when she was a little girl, she and her friend were walking by a home where someone had passed, but the family, instead of allowing people in the house, had a ladder outside the bay window, so those who wanted, could climb up and have a look. She and her girlfriend climbed the ladder.
  12. Best of luck @FrequentMassageGetter . I enjoyed the occasional read. Thank you.
  13. Given your forum name @hungshane, I wonder if Alan reserves his interactive activities to those who measure up in his eyes.
  14. Wondering if he just parked his ad there.
  15. I once met a guy a few years ago from outside the US, who told me he got scammed on his first trip to the US when a guy wrote a check. He thought is was commonplace in the US. It bounced.
  16. Pic three for me.
  17. No can do ?
  18. My one and only outcall to my hotel was in Miami. I never thought to just give a room number. I told him when he walked into the hotel, walk straight pass the front desk to elevators further down the hall on the left. Another guy I met a few times for an incall at his hotel, each time at a different hotel, has always told me how to get to the elevators.
  19. And his crewmember, Seaman Staines.

    You're so helpful.
  21. He sounds like a clock watcher.
  22. I would not know how to set up a google voice number. I have a tracfone with a completely separate number. Paid cash for it at a store, and pay cash each year at a store for the card to extent the service an additional year. Since it is only for this hobby, I never exceed minutes, texts, or data. I didn't find the first phone very user friendly, so just recently bought a newer model tracfone, again cash, and it was easy to keep number, and transfer minutes, text, and data to the new phone. Did that online. $79 for the new phone on sale, and ever since I got the first phone, it always been $99.99 a year to extend service every year.
  23. I've found that when you click on "map me" for several guys, it displays the generic downtown, or center of city location. A guy I've met several times had that same generic downtown location on "map me", but lived 30 plus miles away from the city in the suburbs. I don't have a problem whatsoever if a guy wants to be discreet about their actual incall location. All part of the process.
  24. On my iPad, so can't cut and paste. Look for the thread entitled "The scam that goes like this ..."
