And Roose Bolton, Balon Greyjoy, Walda Frey and baby Bolton... now the stage is truly set for a war for the North with the wildlings through the Wall, Theon headed to meet his uncle, Euron and Sansa and Brienne headed to Castle Black. Cool to see Bran go back in time in his mind and see Lianna Stark.... which I still say will lead to JS's real paternity.

I noticed that too! She was bundled up against the cold throughout the episode (maybe even in last season's finale? Didn't notice). She always wore flimsy things before, the Lord's Light kept her warm.

The more that I have thought about it, I think that "Jon Snow" as we knew him is in fact dead. But something or someone will bring him back to life and his true identity will be revealed. I am betting that he is Rhaegar Targareyan and Lianna Stark. I am also betting that Catelyn Stark will be back because they are definitely doing a story about the Tullys and the siege of Riverrun.
 
Think it is also significant that Mellisandre covered herself with a blanket like she was cold.... like the fire of her faith that had always kept her red hot had deserted her.

Hmm im kind of thinking that when the priests/ess of Light use their powers, they use up their life force and youth...either that or she wants the blood of kings to gain youth back:P I think shes going to bring jon back from the dead.
hmmm but I do really like your jon gets reborn from a funeral pyre. its to cold at the wall to build a grave.. the ground is like iron... so I think they will go with the pyre.

I have heard that in the books (I haven't gotten that far), Catelyn Stark survived having her throat cut at the Red Wedding. She was thrown into the river and became something mystical - probably the "Stoneheart" rocksinurhead mentioned above. So far, the show hasn't touched that plotline at all.

i'm very curious to see hat hbo does next. they really abandoned george r. r. martin's source material last season. does anyone know if they're even using his as yet unpublished "winds of winter"?
by the way, that handsome man to the left is obviously not me. it's (sadly gone) robb stark, king of the north. so, yeah, i'm a fan.

I always thought Matt was kinda hot and he packs a nice body under those clothes - at least that's what I remember from when he was working out at the gym (in the show - not a personal sighting by me)

In the books, Elia Martell (Oberyn's sister) was married to Rhaegar Targareyan and had two children, Aegon, a boy and Rhaenys, a girl. She was raped and murdered by the Mountain during the sacking of Kings Landing. He also killed her children.... or so it was assumed. Varis rescued the boy and had him raised out of Westeros by one of Rhaegar's knights. In book 5, Tyrion meets them and they travel together on a boat back to Westeros with the idea of taking the kingdom back as the rightful heir. So there is a living male Targareyan......Obviously, this is not how the show is going...
 
On the show, they appear to be going with the theory that Jon Snow is a Targareyan.... Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister and Robert Barothean's intended) was kidnapped and held prisoner by Rhaegar. She died in a "bed of blood".... that many think was childbirth. The child was Jon who was raised by Ned as his bastard .... and at some point, he will meet Daenerys.... a song of fire and ice.

"King of the North!" Brought me goosebumps when I read those lines first time in the book. The show did a decent job if the emotion too...
