1. My new favourite word!
2. Love your dark side!
3. I suspect that they would both have given and taken cocks in equal measure. Of course, I am in no position to know.
4. So sorry I missed it, I hope that Baby Boomer has identified why I did so. (Note I decided not to call him BB, cognisant of the possible ambiguity of his reference to MF.) I hope you had a great day!
5. I'm sure this has been posted here before, but it's worth another run.
6. Sometimes 'literally' can be used for precision when whatever wording had been used could be taken figuratively.
7. To be contrarian? Provocative? Subversive? Who knows?
8. I don't know that people would use 'azz' because they thought 'ass' was offensive. Offence, I'd have thought, is the last thing that the typical texter would be thinking of! I don't use 'ass' in that context because the Australian word is 'arse' (which, incidentally, rhymes with the way I say 'pass'), nothing to do with being offensive. I, too, don't think that ass/arse is offensive any more. [in spoken language, I'd put ass/arse down to accent rather than different words and I'd have thought nothing of just saying it the way I do, on paper it sort of becomes a decision. So if there were a time when I would have said 'ass' as if I were switching to an American accent, I'd write 'ass'.]
9. Lol (did you see what I did then?), azz isn't even a short-cut! I wouldn't use ass to start with unless I meant donkey. I have to confess I've started using bc for because in texts, but not all the time. In twitter I'll write what I want to say and try to edit it down to 140 characters, and I'll use ur, 4, 2 and some other text-speak at times, but not if I can do it differently and convey what I want to say.
10. I don't pay attention to music all that much, but Steeleye Span would be up there, and as I recall they have come up in the forum in the past.
11. I was beaten to the punch on this one, but I sort of like its use to reflect what is being done as beyond expectations. 110% reduction is just silly. One of my minor peeves is 'x year anniversary'. The 'ann' part comes from 'year', so it should be 'x-th anniversary'. I'm not as concerned about expressions like '6 month anniversary' as they denote a shift in the meaning from a yearly marker to a marker of a significant (in the mind of the speaker) amount of time.
12. Welcome to the forum, Parker. A calm explanation of the other side of threads like this one is always appreciated, and leaves us with a positive impression of you. There will still be those who disagree with your deposit policy, but you wouldn't be the first escort here to have an unpopular policy about clients and to win acceptance of their views (not universal acceptance, I hasten to add).
13. No problems, no worries and the spoonerism no wucking forries (forries rhyming with worries) are in common usage in Australia, and as alluded to elsewhere play down the significance of what was done.
14. I love this term: I love that it can usually be turned around on its user. The ironic use of this, or 'Bless his heart', is a gem to be encouraged. At the risk of overgeneralising, Southerners have a knack of saying, 'You're a dick', without saying it.
15. Yup, and quite amusing on that level. On another level, it is a surprising reaction of a court to recognise that there was no underlying criminality and no likelihood of reoffending, so a reflexive decision to throw him in the slammer was not the appropriate thing to do. It can, however, be seen as a punishment for his wife as well as him, and she is innocent, at least innocent of the bank robbery.
16. I wonder if these are still available (not this brand, this sort of canned ham). It's a while since I've seen one, but they were better than some of the sliced ham you can buy at the deli counter, and seemed to be a lump of ham rather than reconstituted ham meat. Useful for camping.
17. Ughh!
18. Thanks Lance, that's a great summary. @Eric Hassan posted it on Twitter a couple of days ago. It's worth reposting here and elsewhere again and again, it's great advice.
19. Not about to argue with Doug!
20. @WmClarke, Mike is wonderful!
21. From one Mike to two others, the happiest of birthdays for @MikeCruiseNYC and @Mikegaite. Hope each of you has a great day. Pamper yourselves a little!
22. Exercise I can relate to!
