  1. You are probably right LOL.
  2. No. NYC gets plenty of rain (about 50 inches a year) yet has built 3 water tunnels over the past century up to 125 miles from NYC in upstate New York to ensure adequate water supplies are available to NYC.
  3. Save the fish and kill the humans.
  4. These fires could have been mitigated had CA officials enacted urban forest management practices, built reservoirs closer to sprawling cities like LA and improved the LA water delivery system (like hydrants). A large percentage of CA's annual rain and snowmelt is released into the ocean because there is nowhere to store it. Yet, every fire season brings the same complaints and almost zero action from state officials - year after year. Climate Change is being used as an excuse to avoid accountability. Water tanks are not designed for such mass-scale wildfires.
  5. The lettered trains run through some rough neighborhoods.
  6. How many people let alone ex-Presidents are swinging a brush or doing carpentry in their 80s and 90s? His work with Habitat for Humanity and his resolve to build homes was frankly quite stunning and admirable.
  7. So much depravity in the world. I'm disgusted.
  8. You mean a business that sells everything you can buy at Walmart or Amazon at a markup because it is a "party specialty" store isn't profitable? Go figure.
  9. He is no longer yelling at the press during his transfers. I think it is starting to sink in that he's never going to be free again. That must be a totally demoralizing and defeating realization; that your once privileged and wealthy life is immediately burnt toast. The look on his face, his eyes tell the story. I see fear and realization.
  10. The CEO is not killing people en masse. Jesus. The vast majority of claims are paid. The system is not as simplistic as you think it is.
  11. Eh, you wrote 41% found it "morally justified". Not true. 24 percent of those aged 18-29 found it “somewhat acceptable,” and 17 percent of that group found it "completely acceptable". Nothing about "morally" justified. Flunk reading comprehension?
  12. What a coward. Walk up behind someone and shoot them in the back. Same with the people who support him. Say it to the man's face if you have such a problem with him and his policies. What happened to that CEO could happen to you or anyone you know. Flattening it into a simple case of good vs evil makes you feel safe. It’s the same thinking Luigi was probably operating on as he gunned someone he deemed evil.
  13. Here's an odd thought: what if this allegedly brilliant young man used his Ivy League education, family connections, and natural interests to better the US healthcare system with ideas and hard work rather than a murderous approach. Imagine. If you support this killing, you are just as nutty as he is. Seek help.
  14. Actually, 24 percent of those aged 18-29 found it “somewhat acceptable,” and 17 percent of that group found it completely acceptable so you are factually incorrect. No it isn't. Crybabies and entitled people snap. That's not the majority thank God.
  15. It may be required as an example since Luigi has so many supporters and sympathizers and to discourage copycats.
  16. If Luigi thought he had problems before this, wait until he gets to Rikers Island.
  17. The evidence of Mangione's guilt is overwhelming. What the defense lawyers will do is try to mitigate the punishment with an insanity or extreme emotional disturbance defense.
  18. Some banks won't redeem them anymore. Some will but only up to a certain amount. You can redeem them by mailing them to an address in Minneapolis with a filled-out form, available on Treasury Direct I believe. When you redeem via Minneapolis it takes about a month and will be wired to the bank account you listed. There used to be a Savings Bond office on Gold Street in Lower Manhattan but is closed years ago.
  19. Exactly. Unlimited demand has been created. There are people who never go or sparingly go to doctors, like me. There are many others that go to the doctor or the ER because they have a stubbed toe or the sniffles.
  20. So am I. Can't wait. Your side has been right along.🙄
  21. It actually does. Many people take advantage of checkups. Many people don't bother. That's a personal choice. Not true, that's a Bernie Sanders argument and PolitiFact determined it was half-true at best. Obamacare limited insurance company profits. A big problem with Medicare is that there is massive fraud. as they basically pay out any claim that comes before them.
  22. Sorry, that's bogus. Only 2 per cent of French patients waited 4 or months for nonemergency surgery. I don't think so. What kind of cut and paste is that??
  23. Agreed, BUT eliminating the private insurance system would be a catastrophe. We need tort reform and quick. We need to stop the ridiculous imbeciles that flood the ER's with non-urgent issues. The penalties for not having insurance are not enough to make up the costs for the 100 million on Medicaid, one of the phony promises of Obamacare. And so on and so on.
  24. Wasn't long ago that Obamacare was supposed to bring down costs and deliver better healthcare and all its supporters passionately believed it would work. Well, what happened???? The system pre-Obamacare was better and less expensive. A high-risk pool could have been set up to cover those with pre-existing conditions. Socialized medicine healthcare is great for routine care and abysmal for other needs. It's a death sentence for people with cancer and heart disease.
  25. The "potential for overall savings and cost efficiencies" wouldn't come close the trillions of dollars supplied by the private sector provided insurance system annually. The numbers don't add up.
