They weren't tame, they were actually very good! very free for all if you catch my drift.
The Sunday guys just gave zero effort and expected the same amount. People were being ripped off and they didn't know it.

Went out this weekend to Twist.
Saturday had a GREAT lineup of dancers, more than half were very attractive. Like many said, they are aggressive and want you to pay them for lap dances. Went on all night. And yes, zero privacy, as the private dances are literally on a wall a couple of feet from the bar. Basically everyone was watching.
Sunday, is far different. There was an amateur underwear contest hosted by a drag queen. Now, here's what was annoying the drag queen catered to the annoying screaming big straight ladies in front and literally held up the contest in many moments. The antics or jokes weren't even funny. Most were one on one with one large annoying woman. Even more disappointing once the contest got started, none of the participants were attractive or in shape.
After the contest the dancers resumed, but that was the D list dancers they had. Almost none of them were anywhere near the attractiveness as Saturdays. I also noticed their lap dances were very tame and low key. Very disappointing night. I don't recommend the Sundays.

So, I went to Monster Bar last night (Thursday) in NYC. Place was packed and lots of guys about. I was a bit put off tho, by the number of strippers who had what looked to be a girlfriend clinging to them, or were on their phone for a good 10 minutes before tending to the patrons. The same for the number of guys who were grabbing girls or whispering in their ears as they went by. I understand that they may be straight but I don't go to a gay (strip) club to watch girls touch the men I would be interested in getting some private time from. It takes the "sexiness" away from it all. My two cents

Well, maybe it has changed since I was there last in December. The cabana is a small space with just enough room for a little stage (probably 3-4 people max), a rectangular bar surrounded by stools and a narrow space to circulate around it. It is tight quarters. On the far side of the bar is where some patrons pull a stool and sit against the wall while the dancer pumps and grinds. No partition. after a few drinks and all the eye candy, it can be great fun. The patrons are hot too. I met a French Canadian couple there that were...well, Nevermind, I digress. I've always had a hoot and most patrons look like they are too. If you get bored, you have several other choices upstairs or to the front or you can just hang out in the patio. I do think this club is better with a group or at least a wingman. Again, just one man's opinion here.
 
@shoparound - ah, good memories, bud! I love alternating between Bali Joe & Mixwell! The drag shows are ok, but the crowd in this island bar is phenomenal! Bali has some of the best looking tourists I've ever seen in my life. Just watch out for the pickpockets! I would say Twist is more 50/50 tourists and locals. I've seen straight couples but not that many. Then again, I don't have a straightdar.

Mostly gay men go. Majority of strippers are straight and some of the girls in the audience are the GFs. Haven't seen any drag queen pull anyone from the crowd up on stage, and I've been there enuff times, I did see an amateur night. Every dancer keeps his undies on. Keep in mind the dancers are usually all the way in the cabana bar. Have a few drinks, grab a bar stool, enjoy, try a corner all the way in the back to get some action. Wear comfy summer clothes that you don't mind getting dirty bc it is hot, humid, and who knows what's been splattered on the walls and seats.

So-so I prefer Uber there. Just make sure you have google translate to communicate with your drive through uber messaging. Taxi can be expensive and many try to take advantage in the taxis. One guy charged me $8 to go one block, had another taxi driver help me find guys and dropped me off and took the long way to keep charging me... But the taxis there have no meters or insurance. Uber requires 2 types of insurance and you'll never get scanned if you do leave a bad review and uber in DR will contact you immediately to fix the issue

You know you can google these clubs for the address.... Just a thought

No, I went to No Parking up there before it closed down, and had a great time. Got taken home by another patron. Now very similar scene at Castro I hear, in fact some staff etc went over to Castro. If you go, report back!

OMG have you been there I've always wanted to go. I follow their instagram, lots of hot Dominican dancers

There's also Nowhere Bar on 14th st, Monday nights. I think there is also a place in Washington Heights but I can't recall the name.

I've stayed at Adam Suites and it's the only gay hotel in Santo Domingo.. it's okay..the only issue is the owner Gilbert, but it's a great place to meet guys and make friends
 
I've also stayed at Duque De Wellington.....yuck! I was there 4 months ago...no guys in the lobby and the owners couldn't help me find any guys at all..also the hotel is dirty and restaurant horrible!! The staff is very friendly though
 
My favorite place that's gay friendly and affordable and very nice would be Hotel Boutique Palacio. It's amazing and I always have guys in there with no problems, they just let the hotel make a copy of their ID and they don't charge you for guests...best hotel and best gay friendly hotel in SD in my opinion
 
My 2nd favorite would be Billini Hotel. Same as Palacio, except a little more money. But another great gay friendly hotel...
 
Everywhere else is a dump and IMO SD is NOT the place where you want to stay at a dump because you can look on tripadvisor and see many of these dumps with bed bugs and also guests being robbed also the cheaper hotels lose electricity fairly often... So do research and don't always choose the cheapest option, because it's not worth it.

I think I would base something like this on hearing a person talk, and I didn't get to say anything to him.
 
And I could hear NOTHING during the performance, the music was SO loud. Which is too bad because every so often I'd see one of them react and hear just a BIT of a moan or a "woof".
 
(One weird thing: the extremely loud music and the extremely sexy performers prowling the audience didn't stop one guy in the front row from falling asleep!)

I liked the 8:00 show. Kurtis' tongue made FOUR trips to Draven's butt, which was awesome.
 
And at the end, Draven rimmed Kurtis' , and KW really acted like he enjoyed it. I know I sure liked seeing his really amazing butt get some attention.

1. It's not a club, it's a theater that has syrup shows on the main level and glory holes and a sex dungeon downstairs
 
2. If you go on the website you will see the schedule they have our stars who do sec shows 4 times a week and usually they allow the audience to participate... For example I saw Rafael alcenar there and he went to every audience member and let people rim and blow him.. Their choice
 
Most of the pornstars there have this participation... But same thing with the regular dancers although dancers don't do sex shows
