He was traveling to NYC one time and I reached out to him and didn't hear back either. However, I figure it's fair to give him the benefit of the doubt as I expect he must get very busy and a ton of people reaching out to him as well as the fact there are quite a few forum members who rate him quite highly.

I have a similar perspective when loaning money to family; If I lend the money I never expect to be paid back...

I’m not worried about running into issues with the law but I am worried about privacy issues and how my data would be protected and used. That’s why I’m reluctant to do this.

As long as the compensation/benefit ex-pat package is good including potentially assisting with tax preparation and you partner can visit often, I think it's exciting and would do it myself if presented the opportunity. I always enjoyed living abroad.

I appreciate all of the feedback even if some of it seemed a bit critical; my own perception. A few things: 1. I booked two hours and left the donation for two hours. I don’t try to short change providers and actually usually book 3 or 4 hours minimum. And I don’t haggle or expect freebies. I have had cases where a 4 hour session ended after 3 hours and had no issues with paying 4 hours because it was at my direction. And by issues I mean raising a question here. I understand they are reserving their time and to me it’s equivalent to a contract. I would never book two hours when in fact I only planned to go through with one; that would be disingenuous... I was raised to be respectful and to treat people like I want to be treated and would never try to screw someone over. 2. I dont think I gave the impression I was ready for him to go. It all happened so fast I didn’t even have time to process what was happening. Normally I would have said hey let’s just hang out for the remainder of the time but I didn’t and that’s on me. In the end it’s a learning experience. I thought I was already too selective when looking at providers. I guess I’ll be even more careful when looking at a new provider next time. In the end I look to meet a nice guy and have an enjoyable time; isn’t that what we are all looking for in the end? Thank you all for your perspective.
