Take Laura Meckler’s infamous recent article on socialist Bernie Sanders. It was provocatively titled “Price Tag of Bernie Sanders’s Proposals: $18 Trillion.” She based her story on research by economist Gerald Friedman, at UMass. And she omitted his study's very different conclusions. Professor Friedman saw the piece, was rebuffed by the paper in his efforts to get a correction and responded in the Huffington Post with “An Open Letter to the Wall Street Journal on Its Bernie Sanders Hit Piece," demolishing her story.
