With near-hits on the rise do you feel safe flying?
RadioRob replied to marylander1940's topic in The Lounge
I fly several times a month and feel safer in a plane than I do on a car, bus, train, etc. I do dislike needing to devote a good chunk of the day to flying (getting to the airport, TSA, being there early enough to not be worried, boarding, waiting, air time, getting through destination airport and travel to destination). BUT… while it may burn most of my day, I absolutely feel safe. While a control may fail, there are many various layered controls that make those near misses stay as near misses. -

The presiding judge announced that he had endorsed a request from the justice ministry to ban what it called “the international LGBT social movement”. The move is part of a pattern of increasing restrictions in Russia on expressions of sexual orientation and gender identity, including laws outlawing the promotion of “non-traditional” sexual relations and banning legal or medi… Read More View the full article

He was shocked to find out Santos allegedly diverted the cash for his own personal expenses as outlined in an Ethics Committee report. “He stole $5,800 from me,” said Eisen, 51, who lives in Harrison, NY. “He spent it on Botox and everything else.” “He's not a normal du… Read More View the full article

Also the reason it did not show is because I have to manually remember to add holidays that don’t have a “fixed” day. The IPB calendar does not have a concept of “1st Tuesday of the Month” for recurring events. So events with a fixed day (Oct 31st, Dec 25th, Jan 1st, Feb 14th) are easy to “set and forget” but ones that can happen on different days are dependent on me remembering to go in each year and adding it. Unfortunately my mind is not quite what it was earlier in life! So nothing sinister… just a faulty brain.

Published by The Street By Daniel Kline Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis picked a fight with Walt Disney because it fit his political narrative. As a candidate for the Republican nomination for president, DeSantis wants to present an image a right-wing warrior battling the woke mob on the left. That means being opposed to any company that makes diversity a priority.
