1. Parts of Christian Europe like Poland are enshrining homophobia into law the way Russia already has, but no one around here seems to mention it.
2. What bothers me most about this isn't the expense but that it prioritizes the human's interest in their pet looking cute or being amusing over what the pet might want. Dogs are usually agreeable enough about it, but with some (many?) cats it comes across as borderline abusive. That said, I've bought a Santa hat, fake reindeer antlers and a bow tie for past cats (for Christmas, not Halloween), but without the expectation of ever getting them on the cat.
3. What name an escort, porn star or actor uses isn't anyone's business but theirs, so the general public's opinion on this doesn't (or at least shouldn't) matter.
4. What, no outrage? This isn't just gross. It's an invasion of privacy and likely illegal. If Southwest is truthful about their not installing the cameras, most likely the pilots did, which makes it even worse. Voyeurism is either informed and voluntary or occurs when someone risks others seeing them (in which case they're probably exhibitionists). This is neither. And they should have been fired if the allegations could be confirmed. (That they did this on duty isn't really the issue, as most of the time planes are on autopilot anyway.)
5. This probably is unwelcome advice, but if you want to be valued for yourself and not your money, your relationships should not be structured around impressing people with what you and your money can do for them. That's fine if what you want is fun and sex with an attractive guy. It is way too instrumental an approach if you also want romance and a long-term committed relationship. And expecting that level of sincerity from a much younger hunk is unrealistic and asking to be bamboozled.
6. Everyone responding like this is ignoring that it isn't being used in this context as a politeness to strangers in a face to face encounter but in a response to an escort ad. Similarly, anyone unaware of the dynamics of reverse raceplay has never looked at interracial porn, which is full of this. Or if they have they have not reflected on what this is like and what it says about race relations and stereotypes. This is exactly the kind of thing that makes forums like this a completely different experience for those of us who aren't white than those who are. I don't expect it, but it would be nice if people learned to see things from other people's perspectives and not just their own.
7. Gay, straight or otherwise, dating apps are primarily hook up apps. i wouldn't go into it expecting anything more from it. If anything more happens, it'll be a happy surprise.
8. Related: two years ago, when Jo Kwon was criticized as a drag queen for his cover of Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love," he responded with a cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way." He also made the point that while he's played a drag queen (he starred in a production of Priscilla of the Desert), he can't actually claim to be drag queen; cross dressing for a single performance or role isn't the same as what's required to create a drag persona.
9. Here's the start of a Twitter thread with a few other examples of drag influences.
10. And also for Holland's "I'm Not Afraid." (Holland is an openly gay Kpop idol who until recently was producing everything through crowd funding without the help of an agency.)
11. Drag queen and Neon Milk member Nana has also been featured in other kpop MVs, most recently for "Face" by Woosung, lead guitarist and main vocalist of the rock band The Rose.
12. Drag queens were also featured a couple of months ago in AOA's cover of Mamamoo's song Egotistic for competition show Queendom. (Many of the reaction shots are of Mamamoo, which makes it even more fun.)
13. Here's a video of Neon Milk discussing how they got involved with the MV, how it was made, and watching and commenting on it. Same deal with the closed captions - this is true for much of the content from South Korea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ApenFRHJek:709
14. The MV for the new Brown Eyed Girls release Wonder Woman (not a reference to the DC character Wonder Woman), produced in collaboration with LGBTQ+ collective Neon Milk, prominently features drag queens dressed as brides and BEG as grooms. (Turn on closed captioning for English subtitles.)
15. Exchanging one shakedown for another seems like a counterproductive tack as well as somewhat hypocritical. Don't frame something as prostitution when that positions you for prosecution as well.
16. The Blue Angel, anyone? Yes, it's in German. It's still the only movie of hers that I've seen.
17. Y Si Fuera Ella, Alejandro Sanz (original) Y Si Fuera Ella (Hyeya), Kim Jonghyun (cover)
18. That was a fast about face. Perhaps someone there remembered what egg they wound up with on their faces for protecting James Levine from the consequences of his actions. Irrespective, I'm glad to hear it.
19. The general manager of the Met considers the dozen or so allegations insufficient to cancel Domingo's appearances or even convene an investigation. Apparently the Met has learned nothing from the debacle with James Levine.
20. That's a lot of work for one birb! (referring to the cockatoo who pushed the cinderblock off the wheelie bin (aka trash container) lid).
21. Best acting by a duck in a death scene (emphasis on the word "acting") I will take this opportunity to also post "best supporting appearance of a duck in a music video," although actually it's multiple ducks, not just one.
22. Twitter. Believe me, there's plenty of cat-related material I don't post here.
