Once, many years ago, I was visiting San Francisco and scheduled a massage. It took place in the masseur's home. He had me lie on his granite kitchen counter for the massage. It was uncomfortable for many reasons. The hard stone had no give, It was cold. And it was in the middle of a large room. I felt like I was on display (and not in a good way.) That was memorable for the wrong reasons.
