They filmed "Somewhere in Time", with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, on Mackinac Island in the summer of 1979 or 1980; the Grand Hotel was featured prominently in the movie. A friend of mine was lifeguarding on the island that summer and saw some of the filming.

Someone said once years ago that Dune was a book primarily about ecology. How do you make a good movie out of that? I haven't been impressed with either the David Lynch or the SyFy Dune adaptations. I've heard they're going to try Green Lantern again. I didn't have high hopes for the first one. How do you make the Guardians, little blue old men, not laughable? In general, I can't think of any DC superhero movie I've enjoyed since The Dark Knight.

Not at all unusual, but there are many guys who are reluctant to hire without a face pic. I don't think it's shady, I just would rather see who I'm hiring. I went to amateur night at my local dance club last night and one of the new amateurs wore a baseball cap so low that you could barely make out his features.

Gaiman is one of my favorites. He wrote "Stardust", made into a movie. American Gods impressed me when I read it, it had such an epic feel to it, and I loved the series. Can't wait until season 2.

I've had bad luck occasionally with sizes. I ordered a couple flannel shirts in my (very XXX size) - one I could not even come close to getting on, and gave to my roommate who wears a Medium; it is just slightly large on him. The other I could get on but really can't button without it risking a hull breach, so I sometimes wear it unbuttoned over a t-shirt. I have a pair of very yoga-y pants coming and I fear it's going to be the same size with the story - didn't realize until I'd finished the purchase it's coming from China, where the shirt I gave away came from.

I would love to have kangaroos roaming around. I just bought an owl house, ostensibly to help with our city's rat problem, but I would love to see owls swooping around.
