@Guy Fawkes just locked a thread where this issue came up. His rationale was that the thread would be problematic if continued. Why? I am not sure and I invite anyone to share your wisdom, but the only reason that comes to my mind is that some forum members are probably lobbying the admins to hold accountable those who broke the holy rules of the forums. The rule is that we can only write in English. It is not an irrational rule, and I am sure its intention is to foster a fluid dialogue in the forums without any exclusions, being the English language what unites us. I do not think the intention was to exclude any expressions in other languages. I do not think the spirit of the rule was violated by the posts that I and others, but mostly I, shared in Spanish. Do we have dinosaurs in the forums that react pretty much like the racist ranters we have lately witnessed in the public space? Is there any other explanation for @Guy Fawkes closing that thread? Please tell me there are. I really want to continue insulting @stevenkesslar in Rio de la Plata Spanish.
