Kurt Cobain & the appeal of his look to me aside, I also once caught an on-camera interview of Paul McCartney where he declared that he hated shaving....it was a comment that struck a chord with me & which I agreed & identified with.....& instilled into my own lifestyle with the adaptation of the grunge look for myself in a lifelong way almost always ever since.....my habit of having a wardrobe nearly exclusively of high quality, subtle/soft (not bright) colored plain tee shirts was adopted long before Mark Zuckerberg’s tee shirt style moved into men’s fashion discussions.

Me, personally - if a guy is smooth-faced.....if it's possible in his own personal situation, I ask guys not to shave on the day when we're going to meet (or 2 day growth, even better)....on most men, I love the unshaven / 5 o'clock shadow / grunge look....my "standard" words to all hires - showering always required / face-shaving always optional..... personally, I myself also have a perpetual "5 o'clock shadow" happening.....matches my own moderately hairy bod.....& since I'm also mostly attracted to guys like myself, I basically never hear complaints like giving "razor burn" or being told that "it" "tickles", etc....
