I'm glad the situation resolved itself. I think, given that they handled the initial communication so poorly, they should've offered you a discounted session or some other gesture of that nature. Out of goodwill and to restore confidence in their services on your part. I agree it's no reason to blacklist the providers though. Not from this one instance. But they should definitely have tried to make it right beyond just an apology. My two cents as an independent contractor in years past in an, admittedly, very different field.

This kind of behavior would have me very reluctant to hire such a masseur again. Every time a masseur has gotten pushy, it hasn’t ended well. As one of the posters above said, it reeks of desperation or other life issues that you don’t need to be a party to. I’ve given one provider permission to message me when he’s available because he is very often booked up so if a slot opens I’ll usually take it. The others I use have been told, gently but firmly, that I’ll reach out when I want an appointment.

I adore Esalen massage. It’s such a luxurious experience. Your body isn’t being pounded or tickled, it’s being gently sculpted. There is an inherent sensuality in the Esalen style as its continuous contact, long strokes, and leaves no stone unturned. If you manage to find a private practitioner, I imagine things could be spiced up. I, like the poster above, often nod off during, so I may sleep through the festivities if more were offered. 🤣

I won’t even begin to comment on him mentioning his engagement during the massage. He was either dishonest when scheduling or dishonest during the massage and neither behavior should be rewarded. Yes. I’ve found when engaging with those types of profiles in the past that they either do not respond at all, or they send you a canned text message directing you to their various social media. I’ve taken to disregarding profiles that mention an OF or X for just this reason.

Though I have not had a massage from the gentleman, I can attest that I’ve seen ads of his off and on for quite a few years. He has definitely been around and is not new.
