+ not2rowdy got a reaction from bigvalboy in River cruise (or similar)
Don’t know about cruise demographics. I suspect most people travel with partners since cruise rates are typically based on double occupancy room rates. However, there seems to be an increasing number of cruise vessels that offer single rooms.

Obviously your budget will matter. Here are some ideas to also consider that could minimize expenses.

Based on your profile location maybe a Great Lakes Cruise would be a good way to start.

Type “Great Lakes Cruises” into your search engine. Many choices and lengths.
Give preference to one that includes the “1000 Islands” region between Lake Ontario and Quebec City.

    Other ideas involving smaller vessels:
    Mississippi or Columbia River cruises.

Ferryboat transits between Seattle / Vancouver to Alaska.

I’m aware of some instances where foreign visitors have gotten some very good rates.
Car rental booked overseas, from an overseas IP address, and paid for in foreign currency.

Don’t forget the “add-on’s”. Especially insurance. Check to see if your credit card might cover some of them.

And a week rate might actually be cheaper than a 5 day rate.

Not a “companion” but still going to throw in my 2 cents.

There’s more than one business model. Here are just a couple of examples. Either has the potential to have “great and lucrative experiences”.

There are those who advertise. This is the most common. Those advertisements may be on just one, or on many different sites. I suspect most of the companion responses your receive in this thread will come from this group.

For this next example I will exclude those being exploited. There are those who don’t advertise and depend on word of mouth. They are often very exclusive and cater to the high elite. The benefactor may only be interested in those providers who do not have advertisements and their pictures ‘out there”. A very high level of discretion is expected and required. There may even be a written confidentiality contract involved. The arrangement may not allow for any other clients.

Go to the page that you want to link.

At the very top of your browser window click once in the window. That should highlight the contents of that window. Otherwise you can do a Click + Drag to highlight (but might not work reliably).

    Windows:
Click on the Ctrl + C keys simultaneously. That will copy
Go to where you want to insert the link you have just copied
Click on the Ctrl + V keys simultaneously. That will paste the link.

    Mac:
Substitute the Command vs Ctrl key.

Also, if you’ll be doing a lengthy forum post I suggest preparing the draft offline. Use a simple built in word processor like Wordpad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac). Those will be sufficient for forum posts. You should be able to insert, and test, your links in your draft. When you're happy with everything just “Copy All” and paste it to your forum post. But before hitting “Submit” go down to the bottom right of the forum page and click on “More Options” and then click "Preview". That will allow one last chance to clean things up a bit before hitting “submit”.

Being a military history buff I enjoyed the movie and thought it was, overall, quite historically accurate. Acting and cimematography was quite good.

But I thought the way it was presented was unnecessarily “convoluted”. There were about 5 different stories going on with the “scene timing” going back and forth. One of the “stories” would progress and then you would find yourself “back in time” picking up the plot of another “story”. I was able to follow it - but it was confusing the way it was presented. But I have a simple mind that's easy to confuse.
