Gentleman, We all need to be a little more compassionate toward each other. Those of us that have the ability to hire, especially after the last 18 months, are probably better off than before. I generally get ask for my rate or "donation".    I've had a very few offer less and tell me that's all they can afford.      I don't think I have ever been  "offered"  a rate.
Interesting idea,  but I don't think it would be that successful.    Different providers view the value of their work in different ways.   Some would be offended no doubt.
