Dicks....poop...what could season 3 bring?

I liked it very much. At 6 foot McTeer is an imposing presence on stage. She has a broad range of credits in theater, movies and tv and is really good in all of them. She has an appearance in Ozark, the second season on Netflix playing a chilling American attorney with Mexican cartel connections. It takes guts to appear as a Sarah Bernhardt doing Hamlet and I thought she pulled it off. The play is actually quite funny. Worth seeing I think.

One of my all time favorite shows. I saw the original production at the Orpheum Theater in the East Village around 1982. Ellen Greene for me will always be the ideal Audrey. She reprised the role at an Encores concert staging with Jake Gyllenhaal as Seymour. I’m sorry I missed that. Jake as Seymour would have been fun to see. Happily I caught up with him when he was in Sunday in the Park With George. There was a production with Hunter Foster as Seymour around 2003. They were doing a Broadway Cares fund raiser at the time and for a $20 donation I got a photo taken with Foster and Kerry Butler who played Aubrey. Just as the photo was being taken I snuck my hand onto Fosters back who I found very attractive at the time. Still do. I’d love to see the show again. Maybe this London production will come to Broadway. It has the most wonderful music. Suddenly Seymour!

A fun series worth binge watching.

Cranston was brilliant as Lyndon Johnson in All the Way. And Breaking Bad stands as one of the best shows ever. This show is high on my list to see.

Two of Hollywood’s most beautiful leading men. Would like to think they had wedded bliss together. Given the time maybe not. But they sure looked good together.

There are a number of tv series worth binge watching. You could go back to the Sopranos and then continue on to Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and my personal favorite Six Feet Under. Surely there are others. But Orange is the New Black is certainly in the running. I love binge watching. So nice to keep going until you’re ready to call it a night. Another brilliant series. TV is better than going to the movies these days it seems.

I’ve been privileged to know Cooper for many years. He’s certainly been one of my greatest friends. Hope to have in my life for many years to come. They don’t come any better. Happy happy birthday my dear friend.

I'm part way into this series which is now on Netflix. If you saw A Very English Scandal with Ben Whishaw you might enjoy this very convoluted spy drama with some gay sex kink thrown in. So far I'm enjoying it.

Cecil Beaton, English photographer and so much more. This wonderful, new documentary showcases this very multitalented gay man who changed the visual looks of photography, theater, movies, fashion illustration and on and on. Perhaps not the luckiest man in his love life but he still left his mark. Highly recommended.

Tab and Tony

Having recently seen the documentary I downloaded the book Tab Hunter Confidential. I’m halfway through the book which is really very good and there’s a lot more naturally than in the movie. So his death has saddened me now that I only recently rediscovered him. He had in many ways a difficult life but also comes across as a very decent guy. I do recommend the book.

I just finished watching the first two episodes of this incredibly entertaining series. A big hit in the UK and soon coming to Amazon Prime. All based on a true story which makes it even more fun.

I’m sorry to read in this last review that the audience continues to behave in such bizarre behavior. I can’t for the life of me comprehend it. Mass hysteria I suppose. I’ll stop going to the theater entirely if this continues. I felt like I was at a sporting event where screaming seems more appropriate.

Now streaming on Amazon Prime a well intentioned mini series about an "older" gay couple where one dies and the other has to carry on with some interference from his friends. When I say "older" I mean guys in their 40's. I’ve admitted to being a sucker for this sort of thing and frankly I was watching from 4:00am on. So happy the weather was spectacular but I have to say no country does pageantry like the Brits. I can only imagine what went in to pulling this all together. Must have cost a ton of money but I bet it all will pay off in tourist dollars. Considering the bizarre conditions this couple grew up in, they seem almost close to normal. Although I’m no longer sure what normal is anymore. To have a few hours of escape from the usual awful news made me happy.

I saw the play a few weeks ago and when Parsons came out on stage the audience screamed and applauded wildly. I thought WTF? I knew he had that tv show which I’ve never watched but you would have thought he was the biggest star to ever appear on a Broadway stage. The audience did go on to scream and applaud the next few actors but then quieted down until the acting began. Behind me was a group of women who SCREAMED insanely at every line, funny or not. I thought what drug is this audience on? One of the more unpleasant theater experiences I’ve ever had. I was almost tempted to get up and walk out but as the play became more serious they settled down. A little. It was a bizarre experience. I still don’t like the play even if the audience had acted normally.

Really funny. Yeah this marriage does come with some downsides I guess. But f-ing Harry seems worth the price. Plus a good wardrobe allowance and a nice place to live isn’t so bad either. As for the mother-in-law, I bet she can be fun when the cameras aren’t rolling.

Assuming you aren’t invited, will you be watching Prince Harry and Megan Markle tie the knot on tv? I will. I’m a sucker for this kind of stuff. So dust off your tiaras and pour yourself a gin and tonic and enjoy.

I saw the play today. I saw the original production 50 years ago. It was a ground breaking play. It opened a window to gay life in a way that had never been done before. It showed how many gay men felt about themselves at the time. I think it was true at the time. I sincerely hope it’s no longer true. I don’t like this play. Not because it’s a bad play but it’s a period of gay life that I hope is over. I would recommend this play especially to young gay men with the understanding that they should understand what gay life was like for many at that time. I would fervently hope that time is past. Having said that, I thought it was a good production with talented gay actors. But I never want to revisit this period ever again.

Saw this one man show yesterday starring the very attractive and immensely talented Billy Crudup. He plays 19 different characters and switches accents in the blink of an eye. It's very funny. In limited run at the Minetta Lane Theater. Definitely recommended. Here he is talking with Kelly and her hot husband.

I thought this was a very well written and thoughtful review. And I actually agree with it and I’m trying to ponder why this production left me cold. I’m certainly not saying there’s anything bad about this show. It just didn’t click with me for some reason. I hope everyone who goes loves the show (despite the $$$).
