Since I'm spending most of my time indoors, i make my own breads: hokkaido milk bread, sourdough baguettes, and chinese mantous. Super yummy and fun. Have to keep trying on my slim jackets and pants to make sure they still fit. I rarely eat any type of bread before this pandemic and now i'm baking a lot, but also sharing with my neighbors. I do stay away from sweets though (used to make a lot of macarons and cakes) so that helps.

I just shop every 2 weeks. My 3 friends/neighbors in my building and I always share shopping lists whenever anyone is making a bulk delivery order or running out for some light stuff and we pick things up for each other. I‘ve learned to make sourdough bread and baguettes and am a fairly good cook, but would always prefer the variety and selection of cuisines that NYC has to offer.

I just made my first batch of sourdough baguettes using discarded starter. I used the King Arthur recipe and divided by half. It was amazing. So good and fun to make at home. Perfect with french butter

I too enjoyed it last night. I didn‘t participate in the first one, but thought it would be fun to check it out. Cats are also a great option as they are lower maintenance and equally as affectionate as dogs. Plus, when the pandemic is over, you can still go out and not feel guilty about not "walking the cat". I was never a cat person...always had dogs growing up, but when a friend asked me to house sit his cat, i fell in love and now I have 2 cats and a dog.

I think you should foster/adopt if possible. Now's a good time as you are home all day and have time to bond with your new friend. Always have contingency in your will for your pets. Do you have friends/ neighbors nearby that are fond of dogs and can help out in a pinch?
