  1. I have Apple Car Play in my car and I often use Siri to make calls or respond to text messages.  I have one contact that I have used the same way of asking Siri to call for several years.  (It's a sub-listing under another header.)  Then, after an IOS software update, Siri said that person was not in my contact list and couldn't make the call.  Nothing had changed in my contact list and the person was listed exactly the same way.  I then tried a shortened version of the listing and it called someone who I don't even know and is not in my contact list.  I then said "F*** You Siri" and Siri responded "That's not very nice", which provided for a good laugh.

  2. I agree - it's a very enjoyable show and Natasha Lyonne  is great as Charlie.  If you liked her in Russian Doll, you should like this.  As mentioned, it's like Columbo in format perhaps with a touch of The Fugitive and Murder She Wrote.  The episodes I watched, however, ranged from 48 minutes to an hour long.

  3. I watched it as well last evening - it's long, nearly three hours.  I didn't know a lot about Marilyn Monroe, so I wasn't entirely sure what was fact and what was fiction.  I also found some of what I will term the "artsy-fartsy" visual effects annoying, in particular, the threesome scene  in which it seemed like viewer was sent on acid trip and totally obscured what should have been beautiful bodies in various forms of coupling.    I too had a hard time understanding the NC-17 rating since the potential scenes that might merit it were more like flashes where if you blinked, you'd miss it.  I also thought the floating fetus pregnancy/abortion scenes were overdone.  That said, I appreciated Ana de Armas' commitment to her performance and didn't regret watching the movie.

  4. I watched the first episode of this series on streaming and found the initial brothel scene appeared like they were shooting through a fog machine.  I couldn't even make out who the characters were.  I re-watched that part on another TV, also streaming, it was also obscured, despite my best efforts to adjust TV settings.  I then watched the entire episode again through my cable box when it was rebroadcast - it was as clear as could be.  Just a personal observation, but I've only noticed that difference on this show, since I often watch shows on one or the other, depending on my schedule.

  5. I am about half-way through Season 2 of Merli Sapere Aude.  Really like this show and and find the philosophy classes actually quite thought provoking.  Having seen Maria Pujalte, as the lawyer in Toy Boy and now as the alcoholic teacher makes me want to see more from her.  And course, Carlos Cuevas alone makes it worth watching.  He is also in the show Leonardo which is currently being broadcast on the CW network.  I just wish we had access to an English-captioned version of the original Merli.

  6. I just finished Season 2 of Industry - less explicit (especially for the men) than Season 1, more girl-on-girl action, but also a romance between two male characters.  It also had one of the best lines I've heard in a long time: "Sadly my looks have declined to the point that only women will sleep with me", spoken by the character Jesse Bloom.

  7. I watched every episode of The Anarchists.  I don't think any of them subscribed to a common understanding of what being an anarchist meant or what a life fully free of rules entailed.  Most of them came across as very broken people and Jeff Berwick, the "leader" of the anarchy conferences in Acapulco was a complete tool, from his always flipped-up collar on his polo shirts and designer sunglasses, to his totally incomprehensible speeches at the conferences.

  8. A few years back I used my personal cell phone with a somewhat infamous escort, known for being a bit flaky, but good if you actually meet up with him.  Later, I got a friend request from him on Facebook, using his actual name which he had mentioned to me.  I didn't realize FB had the ability to look up a person using only their cell phone number- a feature which I quickly disabled on my account.  After that I used the burner app for the same reasons MikeBiDude listed above.
