Update on Honolulu spas/beaches: Island Club has been permanently shut down due to financial issues. It may change hands and reopen at some point but no official date in sight. Polo Beach: Authorities chopped down all the vegetation AKA the bushes where people go to have sex. The beach is all exposed now to discourage sex, and it worked. It was already hit or miss before, and now it's really dead. It's still a beautiful beach to visit if you want peace and quiet and to be alone. Sand Island Beach: Same thing as Polo. They cleared all the bushes so it's an exposed beach. I don't recommend visiting here, lots of homeless. Waikiki Diamond Head Lighthouse Beach is now the unofficial outdoor bathhouse.
